SOUND AND SILENCE IN PERFECT HARMONY! InMotion earphones with Etymotic Research technology deliver a perfect combination of near-perfect sound reproduction and dead-quiet noise isolation. While musicians, audiophiles and acoustic engineers have utilized this (ER) technology since the mid 80s, it is now available to enthusiasts anywhere with the introduction of the new inMotion earphones. Engineered to provide a genuinely accurate music stream, these micro earphones assure smooth treble, clear and natural piano, crisp percussion and rich orchestral music. The earphones are shaped to comfort-fit like earplugs, capturing awesome bass within the ear. Importantly, this earplug design blocks out external sound, allowing lower level listening volume and preventing hearing damage and overload distortion from otherwise excessive noise. Perfect silence for beautiful music. Just listen.

5 of 5 Altec Lansing High Definition Noise Free Headphone Tuesday, January 22, 2008
cmb from Atlanta, GA

I bought these earbuds to use with my I-pod. The I-pod earbuds which came with the I-pod work great, but hurt my ears after a while. These earbuds did not work - no sound at all. I returned them and the replacement earbuds had the same problem - no sound. I called the company who manufactures the earbuds and they said they should work, and are sending another set to me. We'll see. Buy.com refused to refund my money, claiming the earbuds are "hardware" and would only replace the item. That's why I contacted the company who manufactures the item.

5 of 5 Excellent Earbuds Wednesday, January 02, 2008
Kory B from Provo, UT
These earbuds sound great and really do block out outside noise. More importantly to me, they are very comfortable. I've always found in-ear headphones to hurt after extended use. I do not have that problem with these Altec-Lansings. I plan on purchasing two more sets for my nephews for use with their iPods, as they have the same problem I do with rigid phones, i.e. uncomfortable.

1 of 5 Not so hot Sunday, December 30, 2007
A Customer from Riverton, Wyoming
I'm not an audiophile, but I listen to my iPod while working out. I think the earbuds I got must have been broken because everyone else seems to love them. I found them lacking in bass, and they just weren't loud at all. I guess they canceled sound, but I really didn't like the "tinny" sound of the music coming from these earbuds. Unfortunately I can't return them because my 14 day time period has expired. Anyone want to buy them from me? I'll take $20 for them!

4 of 5 Great Sound! Sunday, December 23, 2007
A Customer from Boonville MO
I have used a couple different brand earbuds, Sony, Sennheiser, in the same price range. This is as good as any of those. Only negative so far is the flanged buds are a bit uncomfortable (reason for 4 overall rating). However, I have only used them for a short time, so as they get broken in they may become more comfortable. The positive to that is they really hang tight, and don't fall out as easily as the two above brands.

4 of 5 Not Earth Shattering but Good Portable Phones Saturday, December 22, 2007
Eddie B. from Los Angeles, CA
The philosophy around these earbuds is a good one and they do sound decent. Since they are in the ear and should form a tight seal, that means outside noise is all but blocked out. The sound is very smooth and comparable to my $50 open air Grado headphones. Bass and treble are not overemphasized, although there is a switch that the manual says does boost the bass a bit. When inserted properly you needn't crank the volume much and they really do isolate you from the outside world. One drawback of the in the ear design is apparent if you walk or jog with them. Because they are like earplugs your footsteps and the speaker wires rustling on your shirt and the like will be amplified in your head. It's the same sensation if you've ever walked around with foam earplugs in etc. For years I used a pair of $20 Koss open air headphones for portable use with my iPod and found them perfectly adequate. The Altec Lansing etymotic is a slightly better way to go for portable iPod use, but I would probably prefer regular over the ear if I'm going to be in a controlled and quiet environment.

5 of 5 Nice upgrage from ER6i Thursday, December 20, 2007
A Customer from Boston, MA
I bought these on a special price and am very pleased. They provide what was missing form my Ety ER6i. Great sound stage and enhanced bass. They are a little bland on the HD setting because my DAP cannot drive them well at the high impedance of this setting but sound GREAT on the enhanced bass setting. Overall I am very please with them. I found the foam tips provided the best seal required for decent bass while still remaining comfortable. I'm not all that crazy about the "POD" volume control but can live with it.

4 of 5 Decent earphones but I wouldn't pay retail price f Wednesday, December 19, 2007
Rob from Seattle WA
I purchased these earphones in white, since black ones were selling for twice the price. They seem to work alright, although ear fitment was and still is an issue; the foam earbuds included fit my ears better than the rubber earbuds pictured. The volume control on the earphones doesn't have much adjustment range but I rarely change volume while listening anyways...it's either on/off. Overall a good purchase at a decent price.

3 of 5 Etymotic Research 6i Earbud is Much Better Monday, December 17, 2007
A Customer from Philadelphia, PA
These Altec-Lansing branded earbuds have more bells and whistles, a sturdier cable, and more substantial transducer casings than the ER 6i earbuds. Given this, one would expect these to be superior to the ER 6i. However, for me it is impossible to get the tri-flanged tip to seat properly in my ear canal, because the body of the transducer casing (the white part that sticks out of your ear) is too wide and too close to the flange. Because of this, every two minutes I have to try to jam them back into my ears. I have been using the ER 6i almost every day for two years, and for up to 9 hours at a time on long flights, and never once did I have this problem.

4 of 5 Good deal for a good price Monday, December 17, 2007
A Customer from Hopewell Junction, NY
I've had these headphones for about 3 weeks and they work very well and are comfortable to wear during my workouts. The only negative thing is the volume control is a bit bulky and poorly placed.

5 of 5 WAY Better than my er6i and e3c Tuesday, December 11, 2007
Wembely from Orlando Fl
Have two other comparable in-ear phones. These are so much better sounding. I got them here on Buy.com for way less than they are currently listed - under fifty buck with no rebate so watch for deals on these here. I wish it didn't have the volume control - but the Hi Fi and bass switch on the same control make it worth it! You can turn up the bass and it doesn't mess up the highs or the mids one bit. Shocking how good they sound. I'll have to eBay the eymotics and the Shures because I won't be using them anymore.... If you can get them for under a hundred bucks they are the ones to get period - even worth it at their list price - but why pay more if you don't have too?

3 of 5 Think twice before you buy these Sunday, December 09, 2007
Jerry from Ocean City, NJ
There is no doubting the excellent performance here. They have to be DEEP in the ear canal to seal off ambient noise and provide the necessary bass. Get them all the way in and they sound terrific! My problem is that these do not appear to be supported any longer by the company. And since they require special foam inserts to work properly, where can owners buy these inserts? The website gives no clue. I just hope I don't have to throw these away when the little foam plugs wear out. Because of this, I don't know if I would purchase these again. Buyer beware!!!

1 of 5 Sound is terrible Monday, December 03, 2007
Joe from Tempe, Arizona
I bought these a few weeks ago and have hardly used them. They dont reduce noise. They dont even have very good sound. Well they do have great high frequency but they seem to completely lack the low frequency. I bought them for 42 dollars and free shipping and I doubt I would pay 10 for them.

5 of 5 Would never think music could sound thiis good. Wednesday, November 07, 2007
A Customer from Philadelphia
I was using a $15 pair of earphones from TARGET for a year in my Creative Zen MP3 player and was very happy. They broke and I saw on dealsea.com that BUY.com was selling these for $29.99. I read the reviews and couldn't pass it up. I could not be happier. The difference is night and day. Even thought I got them very cheap, they are worth every penny, no matter what they charge.

5 of 5 Sound great, good deal Friday, August 31, 2007
A Customer from Atlanta GA
I purchased these earphones as a lower priced alternative to the higher priced Etymonics. From what I've read they are made by Etymonic and have the Altec Lansing brand on them. They sound great and they really do block out the sound, providing you insert them correctly. My only issue was that they were itchy and uncomfortable after a while. That problem has been resolved by applying a drop of baby oil in each ear, keeping the inside of the ear from drying out, which turned out to be the cause of the irritation. So as long as you keep your ears lubed up, these are great earphones.

1 of 5 DO NOT BUY THESE. NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT & FILTERS! Tuesday, July 17, 2007
A Customer from Boston, MA
Although these headphones sound great, Altec Lansing no longer sells filters for these headphones (even although they still sell the headphones). Once your filters get clogged (may only be after a few months) you will no longer be able to use them. The filters are not available anywhere so these phones may become throwaways after a few months of use.
