Recorded at Mission Sound and Headgear Studio, Brooklyn, New York.
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.

Arranger: The All-American Rejects.
Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler, the two college-age clean-cut men who form the nexus of the All-American Rejects, have a knack for driving home a pop hook. Clearly weaned on power pop's history from the Beach Boys and Big Star to the Cars and Weezer and other more modern proponents, the Oklahoma outfit serves up gentle pop radiance with a hint of Replacements-style brashness on its self-titled debut.
The All-American Rejects' songs capture a youthful simplicity without slipping into juvenile lyrics like many bands with a similar sound. There is an endearing innocence in tunes like "My Paper Heart" with its simple opening entreaty "please just don't play with me/my paper heart will bleed" over insistent acoustic guitar before a quiet storm replete with a tympani-sounding instrument. Ornate instrumentation abounds, but it augments the music, never seeming forced or out or place, likely a combination of prescience on the pair's part and the experienced hand of producer-engineer Tim O'Heir (Sebadoh, Superdrag, Possum Dixon). In fact, the album's hallmark is a bewitching, summery, infectious pop consistency.

Producer: Tim O'Heir

Engineer: Tim O'Heir

Artist Overview
Out of the backwaters of Oklahoma rose the power-pop clatter of the All-American Rejects, whose 2002 self-titled debut album, released on the indie Doghouse Records, won a huge fan base and the attention of several major labels. In a field crowded with Blink-182 imitators, the band stood slightly apart by favoring ornate instrumentation, transparently honest lyrics, and a real knack for hooks and sing-along choruses. Although it took several years for the band to record and release a follow-up, 2005's MOVE ALONG was a big hit that yielded a charting single, the infectious "Dirty Little Secret."

Megan from MD
I saw the ad for The All-American Rejects everytime I flipped through my Alternative Press Magazine. Why it took me so long to finally check them out I have no idea, but this is one amazing band! There's not a bad song on this album. Every song is fun, the lyrics are amazing, Tyson's voice is nothing but incredible. These guys are really amazing live too and they're on tour now! So go check em out! You won't be sorry!

5 of 5 Rejects are a 5 star Tuesday, March 11, 2003
A Listener from Dayton, OH
The All-American Rejects are from Stillwater, OK and have had huge success. They're a edgy pop-punk/rock band. Their songs My Paper Heart, Your Star, Swing Swing, Time Stands Still, One More Sad Song, Why Worry, Don't Leave Me, Too Far Gone, Drive Away, Happy Endings, and the Last Song are one in a million. Tyson Ritter's vocals and bass make you not want to stop listening to them. Nick Wheeler's guitar riffs are something you just don't hear everyday. It's just this duo in this Stillwater band. But Mike Kennerty on guitar and Chris Gaylor on drums, make it happen. I suggest this cd to anyone who wants to hear something new. I could listen to them all day long.

5 of 5 Best CD by Far Saturday, March 08, 2003
bLuEfAeRiEs from Texas
It isn't very often that hearing a song once makes me fall in love with a song or band. The first time I heard this band I knew I had to get the CD. I bought it the day it came out and listened to it continuosly from then on. Its a punkish emo band comparable to maybe a mix between Jimmy Eat World's beat and Dashboard Confessional's lyrics-but way better. It's not the type of CD where the one most popular song is the best song. The rest of the CD is just as good-better if you ask me. The songs are about the good and bad about love and relationships, but aren't too crazy or depressing at all. The lyrics are so greatly written you catch yourself singing to every song. I have been trying to get the name around and getting people to listen to the CD and EVERY person that I have introduced this band to has loved them. I saw them in concert the week after the CD came out and they were even better live. Their music is so easy to get into and the people there for other bands seemed more into AAR than the other bands that had played. Just when I thought I had found the best band in the world...I found The All American Rejects. They are by far the greatest out there.

5 of 5 This is a fresh air of how music should be Thursday, February 27, 2003
Thedreamer08 from Springfield, Va
With this new band The All-American Rejects new cd teens and young adults from all over are understanding that music isn't just about Rap and bubble gum pop. I must admit that I am a fan of all music but this new band has opened my eyes to what else is out there. This cd just makes you want to jump to your feet and start dancing. Unlike the band Blink 182 or Foo Fighters or any other rock bands, this group sings of love songs. For once a rock band can use a rock method into love songs. Just after listening to their cd you have to ask yourself, how have they not been become a big hit sooner? These down to earth guys and great musians are an excellent example of what bands should be these new days. I just have to say I hope they are around for a long time because I can honestly say that if they keep sounding half as good as they do now, then they wont loose any fans for years to come.

5 of 5 Synth-like emo-pop Wednesday, February 26, 2003
A Listener from The Big Apple
Synth-like emo-pop. That's the best way to describe this LP. It's amazing. Each song is musically different, but each has a catchy feel too it. These boys wear their hearts on their sleeves and get punched in the arm. But they live through those situations, and write us, the interested listeners, a soundtrack for angst and broken-heartedness. My personal favorite track is Track 8, Too Far Gone. The band's first single -- Swing, Swing -- is getting play all over Mtv. If you don't have this album yet, what are you waiting for?

5 of 5 The All-American Rejects are a new hit Tuesday, February 25, 2003
Kat from Kingston, WA
In the past I have always had a liking towards Blink 182, they were always my all time favorite band. even if there was another band that i prefered at the time, it was always my favorite. one day i was sitting in the car on the way home, the radio was blaring and a song came on. it was swing swing, by the all-american rejects, i liked the sound of it. unforunately i didnt get to hear it all, seeing that i had been on another radio station and only caught the end of the song. It reminded me of something, and i couldnt place what at the time. finally when i got home, i realized who and what it reminded me of, the all-american rejects had this sound to them, it sounded similar to blink 182. it was a softer not so whiney version of blink 182, and i really really liked it. i bought the cd weeks later, and i absolutely nearly died. i couldnt believe how great the cd was, i listened to every single song on the cd, and i loved each one as much or more then the next one. its hard to find a cd that you love every song on, and this is one of those rare ones. so buy one, because its hard to find a cd that you can listen to over and over and over again, loving each song.

I highly recommend this cd, and I'll never regret buying it myself!

A Listener from USA
This CD is awesome. The best I've ever heard. Imagine, hardcore- emo at it's best. Listen up, the vocals are great. If you can picture it, a voice like Tom Delonge with that undeniable Blink-182 beat with BETTER LYRICS. This Cd is going to take off at any second. BUY IT!

5 of 5 AAR is a must have Monday, February 24, 2003
sara from ontario, canada
The debut cd from AAR is awesome, and anyone who is a fan of the emo genre should definately check it out. They are able to blend the sound of the new age pop, with a unique creative energy only Tyson Ritter could pull off(the lead). Each song delivers a unique sound, and the cd comes enhanced with extra stuff. AAR is an awesome band worth supporting, you will come to love them infectiously actually

5 of 5 AAR IS GREAT!! BUY THE ALBUM!! IT'S WORTH EVERYTHI Monday, February 24, 2003
COCOBEANMONKEY from NEWPORT BEACH, CA USA
I first heard "swing swing" on KROQ and then heard it maybe 5 more times before I finally heard them say who sang it, or even what it was called, I was getting pretty frustrated actually because I hadn't been able to stop singing that song ever since I heard it the first time. When they announced who it was on the radio everybody in the car thought I was crazy because I jumped out of my seat, shouted "THE ALL AMERICAN REJECTS!!!!" and then fought my brother for a pen so I could write it on my hand. I was standoffish about buying the album because of buying so many young punk-emo band's albums and being waaay disappointed, but I'm happy to say I cant stop listening to this CD and I almost never leave home without it in my purse with my little cd player. Somebody else said they heard a little blink-182 in them, so did I, and I too consider that a great thing, the first time I heard "swing swing" I totally noticed he sounded like Tom Delonge when he sang this one line in the beginning "the sun is gone, the nights are long, and I am left while the tears run" you can definitely hear tom in there. Anyway, if you like the good punk-emo songs, the ones that you only get a couple of when you buy most albums, then you'll love the entire AAR album! It's too good to miss out on! so get it!!!

This CD is the smartest buy that I have ever made, and trust me, I've made a lot. Since the day I brought it home, it's been on repeat in my CD player and I have yet to get tired of it. They have a very unique, pop/punk sound that rocks. If you only buy one thing this entire year, I highly suggest that you buy The All-American Rejects CD.

Kristen from Dunmore, PA
the all-american rejects self-titled release may be new material to some, but old to others. nevertheless, the quality of the lyrics and music is awesome. aar deliver a sound all their own -- pop punk mixed with emo. the blend works. "drive away" is my personal favorite on the album, but the entire album works. i definitely recommend pickin' it up, puttin' it in, and rockin' the hell out of your room.

5 of 5 WHAT A KICKASS ALBUM!!! Friday, February 21, 2003
Brendan (brenspears from Albany, NY
I love this CD! I HAVE LISTENED TO IT LIKE 15 TIMES ALREADY IN THE PAST 5 DAYS!! Tyson (lead singer) has the cutest voice/accent ever! The synthesizer these guys use in the background is sooo cool! i'm sure every artist who ever used it in the 80s is VERY jealous of these guys! These guys keep getting compared to Weezer, but I don't know, I like them better than Weezer! lol this album is my favorite album since the monstrously-huge-selling "Tragic Kingdom" by No Doubt! And i've gone through 5 copies of that CD because i listen to it so much!

5 of 5 Rejects Rock Thursday, February 20, 2003
Jessica Z. from St. Paul, MN
This debut album for The All-American Rejects has exceeded my expectations. I first heard "Swing, Swing" and I liked the band but when I heard the rest of the album I fell in love. I would compare this band two great bands, Weezer and Jimmy Eat World, but their definitely not an imitation of them. They have their own distinctive sound and feel to their music. Don't take my work for it though, go out and get it for yourself.

5 of 5 All-American Rejects Rock!! Thursday, February 20, 2003

The All-American Rejects are just plain awesome!! These guys really know how to write and present their music. Their pop/rock sounds sung with heartfelt emotions can really make you fall in love with both the band and their music. Their single, becoming more of a huge hit every day, 'Swing, Swing' is a catchy tune that will stay in your head for days. After hearing that song, youre sure to be a fan. Better yet, these boys aren't concerned with how famous they get. Which, personally makes me like them even more. They have tons of fun doing just what they love, playing great music for their loving fans. This CD is fantastic! 5 stars all the way! AAR rocks!!

5 of 5 A Must Have! Thursday, February 20, 2003
amerz4721 from New Jersey
The All American Rejects, although being around for a few years, recently released there first major self titled CD! It consists of a handful of catchy songs anyone you know will enjoy. They have an Emo-Punk sound, very similiar to that of Dashboard Confessional with a Something Corporate twist, so if you like these two bands or at least familiar with them, i guarentee you will enjoy the songs and sound of The All American Rejects
