Watching Universal's four-disc Alias Smith and Jones: Season One now, it's a shame that the death of [Co-Star Pete] Duel pretty much ended what was a lighthearted, well written, acted and directed, spirited TV western romp, conceived and executed very much in the tradition of the then-hugely popular movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid...Alias Smith and Jones: Season One is a real find for me: an intelligent, rollicking, fun action-adventure western featuring two bright, smart performances by Ben Murphy and Pete Duel. If you watched this show back in the 70s, you'll want to buy it. If you've heard about its cult status -- it's well earned. Unusually well constructed, with clever, intriguing scripts and a first-class, expensive production, Alias Smith and Jones: Season One is one to keep. I highly recommend Alias Smith and Jones: Season One. - Paul Mavis
