AirLink101 AIC250W Wireless Color Network Video Camera

I had it working in 5 minutes. You don't need to load the software provided with the device. The web interface residing on the camera is adequate to configure the device. Since we have a number of web sites running here it was great that the device supported custom http ports. I was concerned about the ability of the device to work in a non-controlled environment. But it has so far lasted the later part of the summer in an out building peeping through a 3x3" plexiglas window. It is not environmentally hardened and definitely not water tight. I think I will buy another.

I travel a lot and I own 4 of these units in my 2 story house and I've had them for 2 years. Once I set them up I unplug them until I leave the house for extended periods of time. They boot up and start taking pre-scheduled pictures which I have it send to a gmail account. It also has computer software that detects movement and captures video which can be sent to an ftp server or stored on the computer (odds are though if you have a break in and they spot the computer they'll take it so send the video/pictures offsite). You also have the option of playing any voice or music alert of your choice if it detects motion but this requires the computer to be on and speakers activated. The only notes of caution are that it will work with WPA (WEP is not secure and I wouldn't use it on a surveillance camera) but limit your WPA phrase to letters and numbers. Secondly, it works great with my Linksys 54G wireless router but not my Belkin N1 Vision router. However, I strongly suspect it was a problem with the Belkin because the N1 has issues with other software and freezes, which is why I went back to the Linksys. For low light and night Airlink sells another camera and has the ability to capture sound.
