James Gray, DVD Times "...the entire series gives off as much a "gangster movie" vibe as a comic book one." Mac McEntire, DVD Verdict
 Editor's Note
Containing one of the most instantly recognizable intro sequences to a TV show ("Look up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!"), THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN was the first attempt to bring the comic book character to television screens. This first season originally aired in 1952, and established great cinematic characters such as Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and of course Clark Kent himself. By day Kent attempts to live an anonymous existence as a reporter for the Daily Planet, but when trouble comes calling, he transforms into Superman, the last survivor from the planet Krypton. This release includes every episode from the third and fourth seasons of the show.

| | Professional Reviews | DVDBeaver.com 9 of 10 This is TV in its infancy but even with all the simplicity that we associate with lesser production features, this still carries its boyhood charm well...We bond with the one-dimensional characters over multiple episodes with the good natured Jimmy Olson, cantankerous editor Perry White, career-oriented Lois Lane and sharp but prudent Clark. It is funny how addictive these shows are and how quickly a whole disc of them seems to fly by during viewing. Of course only a child could forgive the obliviousness of everyone in regards to Superman and Kent's likeness...aaahhhhh TV of the 50's - pure, gentle and lovable. - Gary W. Tooze
