4 of 5 Good for the price. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 James D. from New Port Richey, FL
I was exposed to graphics tablets by a former girlfriend, who had a Wacom tablet. I do some CGI work as a hobby, and figured I'd give one a try, but wasn't willing to shell out the bucks for a high-end one for something I might not end up using. First off, this tablet really is too big to be used as a mouse replacement; there is too much movement in your hand. I was never able to get the mouse to work properly, anyway, so I went back to using my trackball for regular "mouse-like" stuff, and use the tablet strictly for my artwork. The pen/tablet combination works well. You may need to press harder than you expect in order to get "full" pressure out of the pen. The "hotkeys" at the top of the tablet are a nice feature, but you'll want to keep the little screen pop-ups turned on, unless you've got a good memory for what each one does. It is, however, SO much better than trying to use a mouse to draw with. There is no comparison. So... no, it's not a Wacom. If you want or need that kind of performance, you're going to have to spend the money. This is, however, a good substitute for those who are unsure if they will like a tablet, or those who won't use it enough to make the investment in a more expensive one worth it. The Adesso CyberTablet has all the bells and whistles I expected, and desired for doing more detailed photographic work. But then it goes beyond that with more utilities than I would have imagined. So I will be learning, happily, how to make use of all these goodies!

5 of 5 Not a Wacom..but quite good. Thursday, April 05, 2007 A Customer from Green Valley, Arizona
I have a small Wacom tablet and this Adesso larger tablet. The Adesso is not as versatile but works quite well.
I had trouble loading it because my Wacom was already loaded and the Adesso is a very jealous cybertablet and refuses to reside on any computer that is already loaded with a tablet. Was this review helpful?

Claims that this product is Mac OS X compatible are false. As of 3/07, this product includes no actual Mac driver software despite package and CD labeling, there are no Mac versions of the bundled utility software, and the company has no working driver software to download at their support web site. The driver software they do offer for download is in an alpha development state or worse and is crudely designed. A lack of response from technical support suggests they are either ignoring these problems or are overwhelmed by them. This product was clearly pushed out the door long before it was actually complete, with Mac support as an afterthought. Was this review helpful?
