Actiontec VoSKY Call Center for Skype - Telephone Adapter USB07051C-01

I will give my first online review to this great device. I feel I have to say something about this great product. It works excellent. Great product, Genius idea, and Inexpensive. It's no problem with the newest version of Skype at all. Be sure, you download the updated software from their website. I can make the international call from my cell phone without any problems. Highly recommendation!!!

I have never written my own review, but for this device I must say something. It has changed my life, it has changed my international long distance bill. On the weekends, I can call international for free from my cell phone thanks to this device. By dialing into my landline, then routing through the Vosky device using Skype, I can call abroad totally free of long distance charges. The only weakness is the software interaction with Skype and Windows, sometimes you have to reboot the device if it has received an unusual sequence of events like a bunch of calls that hang up and such. Otherwise, the Vosky Call Center is now an essential part of my personal communications tools, paying for itself pretty much in one or two months at most. GET IT!!!

this is great, make sure you have a nice and powerful machine though since you'll need the Vosky application and Skype running in the background, I wouldn't try this with anything less than a Pentium 4.

I use Skype on my Mac and wanted to extend the use. Purchased the VoSky but it does not work with on Apple systems. There is no indication of this in the text or elsewhere. Eventually found one reference on the forum. Windows OS is also restricted. Useless to me, will have to return it. Shame.

I have been using Call center for almost 8 months with very good results: great audio quality and easy to use. If I had problems , most of the time it was generated by Skype (drop calls, etc). Until a few weeks when I could not place any phone call. I tried many things and look for any prossible problems with no luck. When I was almost ready to purchase another one I decided to contact Actiontec Customer Support. Within 5 minutes they decided to send me a replacement. Problem solve!. I was very surprised how well and fast they solved my problem.

Once the unit was setup, it works as advertised (actually pretty well). However, setup was not fun. First step in the instructions was to go to the Skype website and download the latest version. Long story short - latest Skype version is 3.5. This box does not work on v.3 or above. After fighting it for several hours I finally went to the blog on the Actiontec website and saw that other people had the same problem - and lo' and behold, there was a link there to download v2.5 of Skype. Once I did that everything went fine.

Just received my unit - Installed in 5 minutes, call center works well, sound quality is great.

I got my shiny call center in the mail, got straight to business with it. Only it doesn't work with latest skype, insstructions on the vosky dot com state you need to download version 2.5 of skype to have product working. Version 2.5 didn't work so well either. Calls were dropped. This looks like beta product for me. VoSky, fix your bugs!!!

It works very good when I finally got it hooked up. I struggled for many hours trying to make it work. The instructions said to download the latest version of Skype (which currently is v 3.0)which I did and followed the directions to a T, but it didn't work. I searched through the trouble shooting blog and I found buried in there that you must download Skype from their website, not Skypes, and it was version 2.5. Once I downloaded that version, everything started working immediately. I agree with other reviews that the voice quality is similar to a cell phone. Calls do occasionally get dropped, but I think that is Skype dropping the call, not this box. Overall I am very satisfied. I use it with internet calls only.

Does exactly what it claims it would do. have to dial long 15 digits to make skype-out calls but still a great value for money. call quality is most equal to cell phone quality. i have used it quite a bit ever since i installed it about 4 days now and havent had any major problems so far. setup was very easy, however i did have to go to Actiotec forums to get answeres to some questions i had about allocating voice gateways. good forum, very helpful.. overall i am satisfied with this product. bye bye sprint long distance.

The install was easy. The call center works right out of the box. Call quality is good. The only thing is that to use all of its futures you need to have both a skype line and a land line. But it is still great.

I had never used Skype before but this was very easy to setup and it works great. You can use your home phone to make or receive free Skype calls.

Worked as advertised out of the box; easy installation and setup. I'm very impressed with it for a box at this price level. Voice and call quality are excellent. Only a few minor cons: 1) Seems to increase delay slightly over Skype alone 2) Canned answering machine message cannot be changed except to switch languages.

I love this device. It gives me the ability to make international calls from my home phone OR cell phone using Skype (Skype-out). If I call folks abroad who are using Skype at that moment it doesnt cost anything, so free international calls are possible from my cell phone. I can use my cell phone because the device has a neat feature. From your cell phone you call your own landline (where the Call Center device is connected) works by picking up your land line after X number of rings (configurable on the fat interface you install from CD). You enter your security code (touch tone), and you're in using your Skype phone list. You do have to know which numbers you preconfigured. If there is one thing that could be improved would be for the software to add features like the ability to dynamically configure international numbers on-the-fly from the cell phone, or ability for the voice-response to read out contacts. I am sure they will add such features in the near future. This device is a WINNER, BEST OF BREED. It has saved me hundreds on outrageous international call rates already, call quallity is AS GOOD OR BETTER than what long distance carriers gave me before. Of course, that's a Skype quality not an Actiontec Call Center quality, but Actiontec ties your real phones to Skype and from there the savings are endless.

This is such an amazing product. 1. Simple to install, just connect as directed install software and you are all set to make your first call 2. Rich in features, remote calling, call forward, voice mail all works great right out of the box 3. Call quality through this is better then connecting headset on PC 4. It works anywhere in the world, I tried in US and India. all features works perfect even call forwarding, you know what it can do wink wink!!!

I also have the Linksys Skype phone and the IOmega speakerphone. This is the easiest of the three to use. I can use my speakerphone, the handset, use speed dial numbers or (even better) dial Skype numbers from the Skype application directly. All this AND my regular phone line still operates through the unit. I can also use it with video calls and add conference calls on the computer. Unlike the other two options, it does not screw up your sound device settings. So I can still listen to music! I bought it on a whim with the Google discount and rebates (cheap) - but would certainly pay full retail price if I had to.
