I bought this to revive an old HP Vectra VLi8 so I could use it run Ubuntu Linux and while it works great it's a bit discouraging that RAM like this is so expensive per megabyte compared to the obviously more mass produced RAM for newer computers. The old Vectra is a still a serviceable machine for web surfing, email and office applications, but extending older hardware's useful life is becoming harder and harder given the ratio of price to value for RAM like this. Capitalism at work I guess, but it probably discourages many people from getting the greatest life and value out of their older computers.
