I purchased this monitor to replace a dead 17" CRT for a customer with a low-end IBM desktop. The applications that they use are not high-res so I can't speak to how well it works for graphics-intensive apps. It was easy to install, looks good, and couldn't beat the price when puchased. The only con for me is that the base is a bit light and the display was installed on a swing-arm platform. But I resolved the issue by drilling holes in the base and the platform and zip-tied it down. The customer is very pleased and, hey, that's what counts. Was this review helpful?

This is a very inexpensive, good basic monitor, with lots of adjustments possible (I like maximum resolution/small icons, but the missus prefers less and larger ... guess who wins!).
Two other reviewers are incorrect: The monitor does tilt. When first set up, it's kind of stuck at one angle, and I thought that was it, but when I gave it a firm twist it snapped out of that angle, and then became fully adjustable (and no, I didn't break anything). Was this review helpful?

Plugged it in, it "self-configured" (came with a disk, but didn't need it). Upgrading from a 15" flat panel. I LOVE IT. I was hesitant buying an off-brand, but I figured all flat-panels probably are made my the same factories in China.. so no biggie. Great price, great quality picture, fast shipping. This 17" LCD monitor is picture perfect. Out of the well packaged container, onto my desk and wired in took about 12 minutes. No cold spots and the color adjustments are a breeze to set up. Highly recommend this reasonally priced monitor by Acer.

I just needed a VGA monitor to hook up to a security DVR system, nothing special so this was perfect. For $100 shipped, this was the best deal online for a 17" flat panel monitor. I've bought several other ACER monitors and havent had any issues with them so I decided to purchase this brand over a no name manufacturer. Surprisingly good monitor at a very low price. Only downside is that it can't be tilted, so you may have to elevate it to get it at eye level. I wanted an inexpensive LCD monitor with decent technical specs that was NOT widescreen...not easy to find these days. That's what you get with this monitor. Setup is easy. No dead pixels. Very bright display. However, the colors are rather washed out and the contrast, especially between lighter colors, is a bit weak (maybe the display is too bright?). Also, the viewing angle from above is very poor (e.g., if you're standing instead of sitting). All in all, an OK monitor at a very good price. Was this review helpful?
