5 of 5 Beautiful monitor 11/30/2009

I bought this monitor for work, I have to work on a lot of information at the same time, and this monitor does it. It is also great for watching movies. Using either the VGA or the DVI connectors, the text is perfectly sharp even at the highest resolution, unlike my son's LG monitor which we had to adjust several times to have the text display properly with the VGA connector. Colors are beautiful, contrast is excellent and the monitor shows the full range of brightness of the movies I have watched (on DVDs and Blu-Rays). I did not use it with computer games, but while watching movies, there was no sign of streaking or other artifacts. The monitor has speakers, but I did not try them. I'll do that later this week.
This monitor is priced very attractively, and there are two slight drawbacks compared to some more expensive models: the monitor is not adjustable in height (but you can adjust it's angle easily), and the glossy finish makes it harder to find the right spot in a brightly lit room. The glossy finish is a choice from many manufacturers because movies look better with the glossy finish, so it is not an issue with just that monitor, but rather the result of a deliberate choice for the intended market.
There was absolutely no blemish (no stuck pixel or other defect), and the monitor comes with a full set of cables (VGA, DVI, audio), including the HDMI cable which many monitor vendors make you buy separately. Great job Acer!!!
It is a terrific value.
I also bought a similar monitor from Acer a year ago and it has also performed perfectly, so I expect this one to also do well over time.

No surprises here, great monitor. Fast shipping as usual. Speakers are the only drawback. Non powered so very weak sound. Just use your regular ones and all is fine. HDMI port will be very important to have with the new generation video cards. This is a solid performer.
