Just got one. Keys are held in by plastic pins less than 1mm. Easily break off and you lose keys permantly. In addition, hinge is very cheap. Plan on being very delicate with these as they will fall apart with ease.Lost key and flimsy hinge may me return same day. Too bad, as I like acer---

I got this for my little academic elementary school princess. She decided to forgo a birthday party and instead get this netbook. The pink and white colors may sound like a silly detail, but it does give a girl a sense of attachment, as opposed to the old black things. The netbook is very light weight, and the perfect size for her small hands. It worked right off the box, and was able to connect it to our wireless router with encryption with no problem. The speed is great, and with 160 GB of hard drive, we actually backed up all out family pictures onto it.

I have been looking at a netbook for a couple of years but just wasn't sure it was what I wanted. I decided to sell my mac and started looking again for a smaller laptop. My husband talked me out of it saying that my HP was fine and I didn't need it. Well to my surprise two days later a netbook arrive in the mail. Happy Birthday! I love this netbook. First thing I did when I pulled it out of the box was install a 2GB stick of RAM. Then I wiped the hard drive clean and did a dual boot with XP and Vista. (Don't forget to make your recovery discs!!) Getting the hard drive formatted took some hard work, and I had to use a linux install disk to get it wiped clean. But now it runs beautifully! It runs Vista really well and doesn't make it hot or over work at all. I've really not used the XP size but imagine it runs smoother than Vista. I love everything about it. I have no complaints. I will be looking for a 6 cell battery to give me some more life. I think you just have to realize that you can be just as rough with these netbooks as an actual laptop.
