5 of 5 Sleek & Compact & Sharp =100% Beauty Monday, May 11, 2009
jag09ste from Miami, Fl
I couldn't be Happier with my New 10.1" Acer Netbook!!! It's light & fits easily into my zippered portfolio, as well as any number of purses I use!! While it does not have a cd/dvd drive, it does provide plenty of USB ports for all my gizmos when I do presentations on the fly. The Keyboard is also Excellent!! Since it is not totally flat one can type easily without the fear of your fingers sliding onto another key. The Battery lasts super long-I got the 6 cell. I strongly recommend it!!

5 of 5 love this computer! Sunday, May 10, 2009
amy from greenville sc
this was my first purchase from buy.com. the computer arrived much faster than I expected and I love it. I am not into technology, but his computer is very easy to use. i am sure I still have a lot of features to learn about. I bought it to travel with, and just returned from a conference where everyone wanted it. Lightweight, good keyboard. I am now working on finding the right bag for it. I highly recommend it.

5 of 5 Wonderful Product Sunday, May 10, 2009
x1101 from Maine
I absolutely love this device. My only complaint is that I was unable to purchase one with Linux preinstalled. The keyboard is nearly full sized and is very usable. I am currently developing python with my Aspire 1 to give some example of how usable it really is

5 of 5 My research paid off and I'm very happy with this Monday, May 04, 2009
Michele from Chicago
I was looking for a portable machine for email and some web surfing and after lots of research, decided this was a good machine for my needs and budget. Battery life is as specified and I was also pleased with the software included. I have had no performance issues with the device. I tried the additional software included such as Carbonite and McAfee and am very pleased with both as well. In my opinion, Acer spent some time thinking about the end user and coming up with useful hardware and software. You could give this machine to someone who lacks technical skills and they could use it very successfully.

5 of 5 Perfect traveling machine. Wednesday, April 15, 2009
darcidoe from Spokane, WA
My mother has the 8.9" Acer but I needed the ability to put up to 2G of RAM in so I bought the 10.1". I love this machine. It is very easy to use and much lighter then my behemoth work laptop. For those who are not sure about the color (it does not photograph accurately) it is a nice deep red but not as dark as a burgundy. It is definitely not candle apple red if that is what you are after (I wasn't).

5 of 5 Much more powerful than I expected Sunday, April 12, 2009
Christopher Koniges from Shoreline, WA
The hd size of 160gb and 1ghz cpu with an extremely cool shell and a very high quality screen makes for an extremely pleasant user experience. There are two things to get used to with a small computer - although 10.1 inches makes for a pretty decent small screen - first, because the keyboard area is necessarily small (which is great for working in small areas) you need to get used to not inadvertently touching the touchpad and moving the cursor to another part of the page. Second is getting used to a keyboard that requires you to change your hand positions to touch type. Video/Hulu/movie files all present beautifully.

5 of 5 Great Product Friday, April 10, 2009
Barb from Crofcker, MO
March 2009. This is my first laptop and I really like it. Good size, lightweight, love the color (Ruby Red). Good size keyboard and screen is a bit bigger than the 8.9". Acer was recommended tome by several other owners and so far I am very satiafied with it.

5 of 5 I love this machine!!! Monday, April 06, 2009
Samantha K. from Federal Way, WA
Wow! My boyfriend loaded Windows 7 on this machine and it is running with no problems whatsoever. It is so fast and light I can carry it with me in my purse and I almost forget it is there. I use it for all my school work and skypeing with my friends (gotta love the webcam). The only thing I could complain about is that there is no PCMCIA slot to use with Clearwire but they should have a usb card like Verizon so it's really not the end of the world. Thanks.

5 of 5 Acer 10.1" Netbook is Great Sunday, April 05, 2009
David Parham from Wichita Falls TX
This is approximately my 20th laptop computer. I purchased the 8.9" Acer a month ago, and wanted to upgrade the memory to 2gb and the harddrive to a 7200 rpm unit and found it was almost a total teardown to do so. This unit is built right and you can bump the memory to 2GB (all supported in OS) by opening a panel on the bottom of the computer. Hard drive also can be replaced by opening up another panel. This is probably the best laptop I have ever owned. Coming from a Toshiba and Dell background, I am thoroughly impressed with this unit. Only complaint I have is the 1024x600 resolution since most websites are based on 1024x768 or higher. When they get the next one at 1200x800, these will be perfect. I develop software for a living, and this one has plenty of power to run Visual Studio and the various database engines. I love the Ruby Red color and the larger layout keyboard on this new model. The quality and feel of the keyboard is fantastic. I work in several offices, and the WIFI connects perfectly in every location on Wireless G. You won't go wrong with this machine if you are looking for a compact laptop that is close to being fully functional as a desktop. Why lug around 15 lbs when this only weights 3 lbs?

5 of 5 Very Good Value Saturday, April 04, 2009
A Customer from Sterling, VA
I was impressed with how fast XP ran on this netbook. The battery sticks out a bit but the over all size, weight, and shape are great.

5 of 5 Excellent Product Saturday, March 28, 2009
A Customer from New York, NY
We purchased this unit for my wife, who was constantly borrowing my laptop "for a couple of minutes." We looked at several competitors and chose the Aspire based on the specifications, features, and overall value. I must say that it has exceeded our expectations. After removing the contents from the packaging, it took about eight minutes to customize the computer with Firefox and add files from the other laptop, using a flash drive. The keyboard on this unit is much more forgiving than those on the 8.9" units she tried. The size and weight, along with the long battery life will enable my wife to take the computer with her around town and on vacation. Buy.com has come through again with another smooth transaction and I highly recommend them.
