| Warner Brothers played a safe bet by reuniting Sleepless in Seattle stars Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks for this film. An even safer bet is the collection of stellar artists that make up the accompanying soundtrack. There's a fair amount of genre-hopping here, from Louis Armstrong's "Dummy Song" to Roy Orbison's evanescent "Dream." Other highlights include The Cranberries' anthemic "Dreams," Randy Newman's sardonic "Lonely at the Top" and Bobby Darin's good timey "Splish Splash." A mixed bag to be sure, but a consistently enjoyable one, whether you're familiar with the movie or not. | |
