5 of 5 Great Buy Monday, March 24, 2008 andrelacap from Weston, FL
I did not know how I was going to like the 360, because I am a BIG Sony fan, and love my PS3. With that in mind, I was very pleased with the Xbox 360. I got this Halo 3 edition because, I already have a Wii, and PS3, so I just wanted to get a 360 to have all 3, and this is a special edition so it fits well. Has not overheated for me yet, and I have had it for a while now, graphics are good, not as good as my PS3, but still adequate. I am very pleased with this buy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Master Chief would be pleased. Thursday, December 06, 2007 dkraft from Atlanta, GA
I spent the extra $50 for the green paint, but more for the peace of mind - many sources state that hdmi, latest dvd, and ring of death avoidance are all ensured by using this version.
I also missed out on the last Halo special console, so consoling myself with this version was well worth it.
No over heating. I am very well ventilated though - box is 3" from any side or top and is up on a pedestal big enough for the feet.
I only use wireless controllers to ensure a jerk-free operation. Well, some jerks get on my game, but thats a XBOX-Live issue ;)
We probably logged around 10 hours a week since the release night of halo3 (you do the math). I've only had one stressful moment when my 12 year old decided to turn it on and off about 3 times in one minute. It got really messed up, and it may have been related to LIVE issues that night too.
HDMI upscaling is EQUAL to a Sony progressive scan DVD player. We use this on a 47" Vizio and have never complained once about picture quality or playback issues.
We got the HD-DVD Drive, mostly for the remote, and it works great too.
The graphics are simply stunning. We have tried down rezing to 720p on games and DVD playback, but can't see the performance improvement some people theorize. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 No more NO less Friday, November 30, 2007 E from Renton Washington
It's exactly what it looks like and should be, more reliable with the new 65nm chip and is a little quieter than my last 360 (I sold it to get this one). HDMI for full 1080p. Controllers and headset are green which is fine with me. Great deal if you use the buy.com credit card for the first time so it will be $30 cheaper than anywhere else. Great service and got it ground in about 3 days, so don't pay extra! Support the US in this console war and buy MS, our economy depends upon it (not really), but it is our only entry in this war... 4 of 5 no overheating problem, YET? Friday, November 30, 2007 A Gamer from the city where 35w collapsed
this is a nice limited edition console, just glad i waited a while to get a 360. so far no OVERHEATING, red rings of death problem. everytime the console is being used for some periods of time, i check to see if any sign of overheating... believe it or not, it is keeping itself pretty cool to the touch. overall, i really think it's just a 3, or 4 at the most. ps3 is really cheaper, consider you have to buy everything seperate... wireless, hd player, etc...
