5 of 5 Great product Monday, April 06, 2009 A Gamer from South Dakota
I bought these for my husband. They are great when you have a house full. The headphones keep the sound from the TV and game from interupting anyone else, but he cannot hear what anyone is saying to him at home unless he takes them off. (which may be a pro or a con, depending on if you are the one wearing them!) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Headphones Thursday, January 15, 2009 Susan from Sidman, PA
I got them for my son. He just asked for the wired ones but I decided to get him wireless ones. They are great, he loves the way he can move around and still play the game. We have neighbors close by and I always worry about the noise; now I don't need to keep saying, "Turn it down." He gave them to me to listen and I was blown away by the sound--it was almost like sitting in the theater. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Headphones Sunday, January 11, 2009 A Gamer from Bham, Al
Bought these for my boys and they love them. Downside: they can't hear me when I call them to dinner. But the upside: we dont have to listen to the games anymore. Quiet in the house again. yeah! Was this review helpful?

Here is the way that I see these. If you know WHY you want a headset you can figure out whether these are the ones for you. If you are looking for an audio experience with no parallel, maybe not such a good idea. If you want to play games online and communicate with others, probably a good idea. If you are looking for comfort, hey its a headset, not a glove.-----
If you are an audiophile who has a soundproofed room with a high end system, you will be disappointed in the sound quality. If, however, your high end system rattles windows 3 floors away, thus awakening sleeping spouses, kids, roommates, dogs, as well as neighbors who call the cops first and ask questions later, these will work just fine.-----
I haven't tried them with Rock Band or Guitar Hero yet, though I can tell that for the most part the sounds is pretty crisp. The bass isn't too bad, though you have to remember (again) that these are small speakers, NOT 15 inch powered sub's. The surround sound aspect isn't too bad either. On CoD4 I could definitely tell where the heli was at any time, but usually I was in too big of a firefight to tell if anyone was sneaking up on me. Oh, and as for the white noise complaints. I hear some of that on the xbox live dashboard, but haven't noticed it in the game.-----
I really appreciate the mic feedback feature, and if you are a narcissist like me, that will play into your ego. (FYI -- I used to do a bit of radio DJ'ing and I REALLY like hearing my own voice. It brings me back to the days....sorry I digress.) It is like talking on a phone, though you may need to play with the volume level so that it is not overpowering. Co-players have told me that my voice sounds fine over Xbox live, so I will take them at their word on that.-----
Comfort-wise these aren't too bad. I wore them straight for 3 hours the first day I got them. I find them more comfortable then the fine Microsoft product that comes with the console. One odd thing that no one has mentioned is that the mic is on the left side. My mics for work, Xbox live, and cell phones have always been on the right so that was a little odd at first.-----
Setup was pretty simple. You do NOT need to disconnect/reconnect all the wires each time. The audio connections are "pass through" so once you connect everything you don't need to touch it again unless you decide to take them somewhere else. Nice feature and one I was worried about.-----
Overall, not bad. Like I said, really good for late night gaming. If you like to hear your own voice the mic feedback is nice. Sound quality, well, I prefer my system but this does reasonably well. Was this review helpful?

I was very disappointed with these headphones, and cannot recommend them for the reasons below:
1) These headphones have whitenoise that's constantly there - very noticeable (and annoying) during quiet segments of a game.
2) The mic monitoring is ALWAYS on - even if you have the Xbox live chat on mute, you can always hear stuff happening around you. Thus, you cannot use this to isolate your game from your environment noise. The mic picks up everything - breathing, roommates' footsteps... etc. You can't adjust the volume for the mic monitoring, so you're stuck.
3) Not comfortable for extended periods of gameplay - the ear pads get hot, plus wearing these with glasses is painful. Was this review helpful?
