It couldn't be any simpler than this device. Recognized quickly by Windows. Encryption software to secure your data. You can set up different profiles for different PCs. Transfer rate is very fast and the disk is very quiet. Seems to run just fine on USB supplied power.

Quick, quiet and cool...all the things you want in an external harddrive. Fast data access is typical with a Western Digital drive. The size is just right for taking with you when you leave your home or office. You have to hold it to your ear to hear any sound from it. I have had mine for 6 months or so and have had ZERO errors. 30 GB of jpg's and 37 GB of MP3's...I trust this drive with my DATA.

I bought this drive to be a trasnfer point for data between my Macintosh and PC at home and my work computer. This drive has worked perfectly! Worked right out of the box, as it should have (though the packing was terrible to get through). No problems whatsoever so far - everything I hoped it would be.

wow, thats all i can say about this new WD 80GB drive that I just purchased. I cannot believe how fast and quiet it is. I've been dumping over 30GB of data to it and its been running for the last 2 days with virtually no heat buildup. Running on USB power makes a big difference. Incredible value I will buy another one for sure! just thought I'd pass this on as i had researched this for a few weeks before opting for this drive and I'm extremely impressed.

Best thing about this drive is you don't need to carry a power brick. It works right of the USB connector. Love it!
