4 of 5 The good little drive Saturday, September 06, 2008 Vivek S from Chicago, IL
The USB drive was recognized quickly by both my mac and pc. I put large amounts of data on it, and the transfer was fairly quick. The online support from Western Digital is also helpful for tips and FAQ to resolve any minor issues.
However, as pointed out in other reviews, the scratches on the surface happen often, even around non-metallic parts. Thereupon the drive loses its visual appeal at closer inspections.
Nevertheless, the drive is highly recommended to daily personal use. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 works great, but light too bright Tuesday, July 22, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
Nice little drive. Quiet and easy to use, though not super fast. One big gripe: the status LED is insanely bright -- more like a pocket flashlight than a status indicator. I had to cover it with electrical tape to keep it from lighting up my room at night. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 status light is blindingly bright Thursday, July 17, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
Great little drive. No speed demon, but excellent for backups or carrying around files, and at a good price.
But WHY IS THE LED STATUS LIGHT SO BRIGHT? It's as bright as one of those little keychain flashlights. It will literally light up your whole room at night. I put electrical tape over it immediately, but what a lame design. Product designers: just because insanely bright LEDs are available for cheap these days doesn't mean they're appropriate to use everywhere. Give us back those mellow, dim red ones you used to use.
