In an interview in the West Wing DVD package, creator Aaron Sorkin says that he had wanted to write about what happens in the minutes before and after the public political moments in Washington, DC. As the world now knows, he succeeded admirably when he created this often-decorated TV series set in the West Wing of the White House. Not only does it illuminate the people behind the scenes, but it does so with a style and substance rarely found in a weekly series.
