"Katamari Damacy" is still on my short list of favorite games of all time. It's an incredible game, and I'm not giving up my copy for anyone. But We Love Katamari has managed to beat it, hands down, in almost every single way.

Despite the game's single-minded clarity and apparent repetitiveness, the creative challenges provide clever variety. Goals include tidying a boy's room, creating giant snowmen, lighting campfires, tearing around racetracks, satisfying Hansel and Gretel's gluttony and even saving Earth from a meteor storm...Much of the game's undeniable attraction comes from Katamari's presentation, with psychedelic Lego-like worlds and the most memorable, infectious soundtrack since PaRappa the Rapper. The sound effects when rolling over assorted victims are equally wonderful and will provide lots of giggles...Love at first sight. Namco is going right out and saying it - they're making this game because the fans of the original want to see more katamaris. It's a bit trite to say, but this game is like Namco's thank you to the fans that made the first one a runaway hit...This game adds several new environments, including a campsite, an island race track, a school, and an underwater grotto. Moreover, these environments are much larger than ones available in the previous game. You only had a given number of resizes per level, when the game would zoom out and show the katamari was ready for larger objects, in the original. While still true, the game resizes much more, and more often, in this game. You get to see a much larger world with many more items strewn about, resulting in bigger katamari in less time...Katamari Damacy is still on my short list of favorite games of all time...But We Love Katamari has managed to beat it, hands down, in almost every single way. - Rick Healey

It is a sequel, but We Love Katamari has not lost any of the original's surreal edge. It may have been said before but it bears saying again: whatever the guys have been taking to make a game this weird, I wish it came in six-packs. Nothing this strange could have been imagined without chemical assistance. But of course rolling up everything in your path, including multitudes of people, and sending them to a blazing death as the heart of a new star or the core of a planet is perfectly normal, good, clean fun, right?...In We Love Katamari, the music is again very catchy. I don't think it is quite up to the standards of the first game, but others could disagree. It all still works to make hours of katamari rolling never get old.So while We Love Katamarimay not have the "WOW!" factor that its coming-out-of-left-field predecessor Katamari Damacy had in 2004, it is still more fun than the majority of games will ever be. - Will Hill
