"Tonight Is the Night" is a Southern soul floater about losing your virginity that Betty Wright sings with all the apprehensions of an innocent. New Birth's soul makeover of "Wildflower" is gritty and uncompromising; after listening to this, the original sounds lifeless. Full versions of songs make Slow Jamz that much more enjoyable.
