Charlie Harper is a bachelor in paradise, complete with Malibu beach house, overpaid job and a very active dating life. The his uptight brother Alan, in the throes of a divorce, moves in - and brings his 10-year-old son Jake with him. Sorry, Charlie. It looks like paradise lost.

This 4-disc set includes all 24 Season One episodes of the breezy comedy - the People's Choice Award winner as Favorite New Series - starring Charlie Sheen as Charlie and Jon Cryer as Alan. As the brothers reestablish a sense of family, Charlie also bonds with Jake (Angus T. Jones). Holland Taylor is the guys' domineering mother, Marin Hinkle is Alan's icy ex and Melanie Lynskey is Rose, who thinks one date with Charlie means lifelong commitment. Meet the Harper men - two adults, one kid and no grown-ups.

"One of the most endearing new comedies of the year."  Washington Post
"...has all the conflict and tension at its core that made The Odd Couple so successful, with the added bonus of an equally skilled supporting cast..."  Kent Dixon, DVD Verdict
"Sheen and Cryer have already proven on countless occasions their knack for comedy, and this show is just the latest example."  Shawn McKenzie, Entertain Your Brain!
"...[a] sharply written sitcom that happily doesn't pander to the lowest common denominator."  Tim Knight, Reel.com

Editor's Note

Charlie Sheen takes a starring role in TWO AND A HALF MEN, a genial CBS comedy about a dysfunctional family. Sheen plays Charlie Harper, who enjoys the bachelor life in his Malibu beach house. His existence consists of an endless stream of partying and dating until his brother, Alan (Jon Cryer), moves in with him. Alan's life has fallen apart after a separation from his wife, but he still has custody of his 10-year-old son, Jake (Angus T. Jones), who also moves into Charlie's Malibu home. Supporting characters include Alan's ex-wife, and Charlie and Alan's overbearing mother. The makeshift family formed by Charlie, Alan, and Jake provides plenty of laughs and a few poignant moments in this complete first season of episodes.

Professional Reviews
Entertain Your Brain! 9 of 10
This show is up there with NBC's "Happy Family" as two of the best new sitcoms this season. Sheen and Cryer have already proven on countless occasions their knack for comedy, and this show is just the latest example. Sheen's chemistry with Jones is great, and the kid comes off acting like a regular kid instead of like a "sitcom kid." Lynskey's character seems like a one-note joke though, and I doubt she will last long. I know that I have found a gem when I find myself smiling at the end of a show...I will miss seeing "The King of Queens" on Mondays, but "Two and a Half Men" is a good replacement. All I can hope for now is that "Still Standing" will be cancelled and "King" will be put in its place. Maybe that kind of perfection is overrated. - Shawn McKenzie
