Meyer dreamt of a darkly handsome vampire whose love for a comely young lady was constantly threatened by his unearthly desire to suck her blood. Even though she was raising three children under the age of five at the time, Meyer somehow managed to extend her vivid dream into a popular book for teens, TWILIGHT, published in 2005. By 2008, the four books of the TWILIGHT series were the four top-selling books of the year, according to USA Today, an unprecedented feat that has never been accomplished by any other author. This was a very cheap way to get the entire set of books. I, myself am a fan of the Twilight series. Sadly, my dog ate a quarter off the back cover of New Moon, but otherwise it came in a box, with a protecting case and the books come with a handy bookmark. It's an awesome series, and is the cheapest around! ALL HARDCOVER! You even get the pleasure of hearing the first crack when you open the book for the first time! :) Was this review helpful?

I got the set for my 11 year old daughter. With Twilight the movie coming out she wanted the rest of the series. Even though the story has vampires in it, it is not a scary series of books. A love story is a love story supernatural characters or not. Not only did my daughter finish all 4 books in under 3 weeks, she has gotten my wife and I hooked on them as well. I was pretty skeptical of these books after I had heard that it was geared toward teenagers and it was another vampire story. However, this is not the case. To me, it reminded me of the Harry Potter series in the fact that although it was geared towards children/young adults -- everyone was hooked on the stories. I received this set in the mail a couple of days before Halloween. Started the first book the night of Halloween and finished the last book (>2500 pages total) about 1-2 days later. The stories and characters were addicting. The love story poignant and the scenes were vividly described. I can't wait to see how the movie will protray everyone and I hope they make movies out of ALL the books in the series. Was this review helpful?
