In this comprehensive and entertaining resource, multi award-winner David Macaulay reveals the inner workings of the human body as only he can. This one-of-a-kind book takes readers on a visual journey through the human body. With his trademark humor, Macaulay builds a body and explains how it works.

Annotation:
In THE WAY WE WORK David Macaulay tackles human anatomy with the same combination of gusto, whimsy, scientific curiosity, and charming illustration that made his THE WAY THINGS WORK a perennial bestseller. Macaulay condenses a wealth of knowledge about the body's amazing systems into each colorful page, making THE WAY WE WORK popular with both children and adults.

Praise
"Macaulay has taken on the task of explaining the body from atoms on up. He does this with lively color, scientific accuracy and his familiar, and shamelessly hokey, humor." - James Gorman 11/9/08

"Humor thus occasionally leavens the information, which, though often complex and technical, is clearly and succinctly presented in double-page spreads, accompanied by an illuminating array of illustrations...often full of visual metaphors and striking angles." 09/01/2008
