This cd is the perfect cd to unwind to. After I listen to it, I feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and happy. Il Divo's voices are like fine silk, and I can't get enough of them! My favorite tracks are #4, Hallelujah (Aleluya), and #11, Amazing Grace. Was this review helpful?

I love this CD! All these songs are uplifting and inspirational. I listen to this CD when I am stressed or need to sit back and relax. The music is very soothing and I can't help but smile when I listen to it even though most of the lyrics are not in english. There are 11 songs on this CD which includes:

My favorite songs are Amazing Grace and Hallelujah. I have heard many people sing these songs and these guys really know how to sing them! They are so beautiful. This isn't the kind of music I listen to all the time but it is the music and CD of choice when I want to wind down. It's really emotional and very peaceful. I recommend this CD! As soon as I recieved this CD I played it and fell in love again. They have such a smooth sound and are very easy to listen to. Even when I don't understand the words the music is wonderful. The languages that they sing in are so fitting for their sound. It is great. Was this review helpful?

I have very eclectic taste when it comes to music. I can listen to Clay Aiken one minute and Marilyn Manson the next. I love a wide variety of music. I have neve heard any songs from Il Divo until I got the CD. I have to say that to me, Il Divo sounds like a cross between Josh Grobin and the Three Tenors. That is certainly a compliment since they are all wonderful artists.
I have heard of Il Divo but haven't heard any of their songs until "The Promise".
Honestly, I think it's a very romantic CD. I can see myself playing this in the background over a nice dinner with my husband, or play it at a party. The music is very calming and relaxing for the most part.
"Adagio" is a bit bold and powerful (not one of my personal favorites) but the other songs are nice and mellow.
My favorite is "La Luna". I don't know why but it sort of reminds me of the theme song to "Ice Castles" in the begining and then towards the end it reminds me of "Words" by the Bee Gees.
Other favorites are "I Knew I Loved You" and "Angelina".
Their version of "Hallelujah" was very nice too.
It doesn't bother me that they are doing their versions of other songs. Sadly MANY artists "sample" other songs these days. It's common practice. I would however lover to hear more from them, perhaps more original songs.
Overall I think it's a very nice CD and I will certainly be listening to it while I'm working at my computer.
