| After a triple-platinum debut and platinum follow-up, Disturbed fuses the brutality and darkness of 2000's The Sickness with the added melodic nature and complexity of 2002's Believe for album number three. Aggressive, relentless and intense-yet at the same time transcendent-Ten Thousand Fists is a rock sledgehammer.
| | Album Notes and Credits | Notes & Personnel Info | | Disturbed: David Draiman (vocals); Dan Donegan (guitars, keyboards); Mike Wengren (drums). | | Additional personnel: John Moyer (bass guitar). | | Five years after Disturbed's crushing debut, the Chicago nu-metal stalwarts offer their third full-length, TEN THOUSAND FISTS. Reunited with long-time producer Johnny K and new bassist John Moyer (Union Underground), Disturbed's return boasts a revitalized edge. TEN THOUSAND FISTS carries the metallic fire of THE SICKNESS, perfectly balanced with the melodic sensibility of 2002's BELIEVE. From the mosh pit-inspiring title track to the provocative and socially conscious lyrics of tracks such as "Deify" and "Sacred Lie," it is abundantly clear that Disturbed has further evolved their brutal-yet-refined approach. TEN THOUSAND FISTS also features striking booklet artwork by comic book legend Todd McFarlane. | Producer: Johnny K; Disturbed |
| | Artist Overview | | While heavy metal band Disturbed displays all the expected aggression and angst of its peers, it has achieved a wildly successful, chart-busting popularity, bolstered by a melodic complexity and frontman Dave Draiman's persuasive swagger. Formed in Chicago in 1996, the band developed a passionate following in their hometown. Their first major label release in 2000 sold in the millions, and their 2002 follow-up BELIEVE topped the charts. Main-staging 2003's Ozzfest cemented their status as the reigning kings of nu-metal, so that their hotly anticipated 2005 release 10,000 FISTS debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200. |

5 of 5 Holy Crap This Is Good Thursday, June 01, 2006 Ryan from Tijeras, NM
That is what I said when I heard "Fear" on the radio.... then "10,000 Fists" came out so the radio started playing the new songs... I changed that holy crap in into an "unfreakin believable" that is how impressed I am with this CD. From the Pounding guitar riffs to the sound of the 80's style vocals this CD has to be the best of Disturbed yet, in my opinion. If you haven't bought this album yet do so, and "The Sickness" that is their second best album.... buy this or you will wake up breathing through a hole in your neck! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 THE BEST YET Tuesday, October 18, 2005 brutalbich from tyler,tx.
I am by no means a music critic...but I know what I like,
and what moves me...and I love Disturbed!! Their new cd "10,000 Fists"
is just simply AMAZING...the lyrics are heart felt and relevant, the music is pounding,
and the guitar solos are incredible..Disturbed are no "Sons of Plunder".
Get the new cd TODAY...you will love it Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The Disturbed Ones - Ten Thousand Fists Sunday, October 09, 2005 youngblut80 from Waterloo Iowa
Since I bought this cd I have not taken it out of my cd player. It really lifts you up with a solid mixture of passion and attitude. This band is clearly the best rock and roll band of the year. Seeing them in concert is a must. Rock on guys! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Disturbed Rules !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thursday, October 06, 2005 moniqueXP from Pleasantville, NY
"United in Anger does sum up the feel of Disturbeds latest CD.
From the moment you hear the first song "Ten Thousand Fists" to the last mind-bending song "Avarice" one thing is clear, Disturbed is back with a vengeance. In between you have the in your face Deify and Decadence along with the cover song Land of Confusion that just kicks you right in the gut leaving you wanting to hear more.
Once you have completely listened to the CD, you come to realize that you have just experienced the best & loudest head-banging ride of your life.
The rawness of David Draiman's Vocals matched by the massive guitar riffs of Dan Donegan, the driving beats of drummer Mike Wengren and complimented by John Moyer on bass make Disturbed an unstoppable force not to be reckoned with and righteously so.
Ten Thousand Fists is a must have for anyone whom has ever cranked up the volume and let go of every feeling/emotion that will leave you breathless.
Two Fists up in the air for Disturbed!!!!!

5 of 5 A must own for any metal fan! Thursday, October 06, 2005 A Listener from Freehold, NJ
It is clear that Disturbed has spent much time writing Ten Thousand Fists and it was well worth the wait. The lyrics are absolutely amazing, especially in songs like Sons of Plunder where David (vocals) belts out "It's like the plague from below/Killing all that I know/One hundred voices, the same/Drench their sorrow in flame" This song describes the monotonous repition of sound amongst new bands.
Dan (guitarist) finally lets his true talent show with solos on six songs. Mike's (drummer) skills on the drums have definitely improved and he lets it show on every song. John (bassist) is clearly a good replacement for Fuzz. Dave's vocal improvement is easily noticed from the first to the last song on Ten Thousand Fists.
Ten Thousand Fists portrays the themes of unity, power, and war. Although anti-war Disturbed does talk about it in some songs and they let the fans know that they support the troops, but not the war.
Ten Thousand Fists is a must own for all Disturbed fan. Even if you have never heard of Disturbed, BUY TEN THOUSAND FISTS. From the time Dave belts out the first note of the cd to the last, you will have a smile on ur face. Ten Thousand Fists is a great album and I am sure you will not be disapointed. 5 of 5 Insane Thursday, October 06, 2005 rockpy2213 from New Jersey
Disturbed's third album exceeds "Believe" and "Sickness" in intensity, it is by far the sickest album I have ever bought. I have both "Sickness" and "Believe" and they both have there own sound, which is awesome, but "Ten Thousand Fists" takes both sounds and makes something new, it combines "Sickness's" hardcore metal sound and "Believe's" rock-like beat, the new rage inspiring sound along with Draimans Sick Vocals makes this definitly one cd worth buying...
