This duo worked perfectly right out of the box. Setup was exceedingly easy. No software installation was needed. Just plugged in the USB "receiver" and the driver must have self-installed automatically. "Training" the mouse and keypad was as easy as pressing two buttons. As far as performance goes, couldn't be better. There was no discernible delay with either mouse function or keypad function. The cursor (or numbers) moved (or appeared) as quickly as I could. A comment about small hands/fingers may be somewhat true--both the mouse and keypad are a bit micro-sized. However, the size wasn't ridiculous and is consistent with the portability of a notebook. Overall, the Targus mouse is better than the notebook mouse touch-pad and the numeric keypad is superior than typing numbers from the laptop.
