5 of 5 works great,hard to setup Tuesday, September 29, 2009
Mark from Jacksonville,FL

I have an older HP printer PSC950 and it was attached to my desktop but my vista laptop would not print to it so I had a 2nd printer hooked up just so vista could print to it, but even that was a pain because I'd have to turn on my desk top to print through my network to it. This was the solution now I can print directly through my network and vista even recognizes my HP PSC950 now. the down side it was tricky to get working, the IP address it uses is the same as my D-Link router, so I had to change the IP address on the router to get it to work. But after some working on it I'm up and running and very pleased. Especially pleased with the Buy.com price.

5 of 5 Great print server Saturday, May 16, 2009
Benjamin from Sandpoint, ID
I was able to connect the TE100-P1U to my wireless router very easily. Now my desktop on the LAN along with the XP and Vista laptops are able to print to my USB HP PSC 750 over the wireless network. No more powering up my desktop to print from a laptop. Installation was very easy. Had to disconnect from the Hughes Network satellite internet box and change the TRENDnet IP address to something other than 192.168.0.1 to avoid a conflict. Then I connected everything back and the install went perfectly.

1 of 5 Don't buy it. Thursday, December 20, 2007
A Customer from Orlando, Florida
Bought the TE100-P1U during black friday sale. I tried setting up to use with my HP LaserJet 1020 printer. I went through the setup and I could not get the TE100-P1U to recognize the HP printer. The 24 Customer Support sucks. My first call to them was put on hold for 30 minutes and when they answered, they took my name and number and said they will call me back. Never did. I called them again the next day and the same thing happened. On the third day, I called them again and waited the usual 30 minutes. When they answered, they asked for my info to call me back. I told them my previous calls and I never got the call back. I was put on hold for another 30 minutes. When I finally get through to the tech person, I was told the device does not support the HP LaserJet 1020 printer. So If you have a HP printer or any other printer for that matter, don't buy this device.

5 of 5 Good Performance and Value! Saturday, September 18, 2004
Wiley from Albany, Oregon
This small device does what Trendware/TrendNet says it does. Setup was smoother than I anticipated and the performance of the printer is not slowed...as best as I can judge. I've got an HP Desk Jet 6122. It's a quick printer that also duplexes (two-sided printing). It supports USB2 or Parallel ports. I've got no functional problems at all. I was concerned that there would be a noticeable slowdown due to the downshift to USB 1.1 service. However, the print jobs seem to start quicker and they continue to move right along. Setup through the included application took a few minutes to get familiarized with... But, once that was done, the process went smoothly for each computer that would be accessing the printer. In XP, you set up a "Standard TCP/IP" printer port with the server name and IP address. Both are provided in the "PS Admin" setup app from TrendNet. With that done, you simply add a printer and assign it to the new port using XP's "Printers and Faxes" utility in Control Panel. That's pretty much all there is to getting your printer up and running. It's a kick to get that first test page out of the printer. One thing to note... For some reason, the print server does not provide two-way communication between my printer and my computer. I've had to give up the handy ink level warning messaging that HP's printer driver provides. TrendNet says they support "Bi-directional communication", but I'm not sure what that means. I guess I'll have to call and find out. In summary, the TE100-PS1U is exactly what I needed to get my printer on line on my home/office network...And at a GREAT price.

1 of 5 Does NOT wake up printer in standby Tuesday, July 13, 2004
A Customer from NoVA
I contacted their tech support and they said it will not wake up a sleeping printer. For that reason alone I will not use it. Otherwise, it is very small and useful.

5 of 5 Best of Home/Small Office Networks Tuesday, December 23, 2003
A Small Business Owner from Cerritos, California
Very simple to setup: I used the include PSAdmin utility and configured it in less than 5 minutes. I assigned it a static IP so I can make changes using a web browser on any station on my network. On Windows 98/ME stations I add it as a network printer with path:[\\(print server name)\(port name)]; on Windows XP/2000, an IP port would do. Another convenient feature is that I can capture LPT1's to this path so my old DOS accounting system can print to the printer connected via this print server. This is the best print server I've ever had: it's cheap and has all the features I need.
