For a thousand years, three opposing forces have waged war for what they believe is true. There can be no room for compromise: their way is the only way. Dubbed The Infinite War, this devastating conflict has taken its toll on a once-peaceful galaxy and has only served to deepen the hatred between the factions. After centuries of struggle, the battle for supremacy has at last reached a turning point. Under your strategic command and leadership, will your faction will reign supreme? Will you be victorious and elevate your race to domination? Or will you lead them into the hell of defeat and ultimate extinction? "...the best artificial intelligence we've ever seen in a strategy game...the real-time strategy game of the year..." Games Master UK "Incredible graphics and an awesome sense of scale." GameSpy "This is all-out war on a scale we've never seen before, and it is glorious." PC Gamer "...mass numbers of units, a great soundtrack...and plenty of challenge from the Skirmish AI...a great full package." AtomicGamer "...the best artificial intelligence we've ever seen in a strategy game...the real-time strategy game of the year..." | | Professional Reviews | Strategy Informer 9 of 10 Legions of fans have been awaiting the release of this truly colossal battle-fest; it just has all the right ingredients for a spectacular real-time strategy with staggering tactics. Not since Total Annihilation has the gaming universe had the joy of smashing mass robot armies into one another and unleashing weapons of unimaginable firepower...Graphically Supreme Commander is a beauty with all those lovely units stomping, rolling and blasting about the battlefield, and that's before they even get a chance to let their guns do the negotiating...Honestly this is one of the big A-list titles for the RTS genre, any self respecting gamer who's into the real-time strategic scene must, MUST, have this war behemoth among their collection. - Simon Priest ActionTrip 9 of 10 Be warned, Supreme Commander is a challenging and frequently tricky strategy game, but persistent players are rewarded for their efforts with an impressive amount of unit upgrades. The coolest thing is that the upgrading system makes all the difference on the battlefield, and can eventually offer access to colossal units, capable of leveling an entire city (apart from looking awesome to boot). If you feel like it, you can eventually lay waste to the land with devastating nuke attacks...If the 20-30 hours of fun doesn't quench your thirst for conquering and massive battles, you can look forward to 40 maps in skirmish mode as well as an extremely entertaining multiplayer...Without even the slightest doubt, GPG and good old Christ Taylor made a spectacular RTS that should keep you occupied for weeks. - Ure "Vader" Paul Game Revolution 9 of 10 All three sides are well balanced because, other than graphically speaking, there aren't very many differences. Every unit essentially has a near-identical analog for every race...You can also upgrade your own personal giant robot ACU with more powerful weapons, teleporting abilities and other bling, but this is so inordinately expensive it seems like more of an endgame gambit, and not particularly useful even then...The huge scope of the battles, as well as the ability to pull out the camera to take in the entire eighty kilometer square battlefield, is the other hallmark of Supreme Commander. You need that tactical view to really hone your strategy, because on maps this huge you might need fully twenty minutes just to move troops into position. This makes the intelligence provided by radar or sonar much more important than in most strategy games...While heavy on the system requirements, Supreme Commander is simply a terrific, well designed game, and no wonder. Chris Taylor, the lead designer also made the awesome predecessor to this game years ago when it was called Total Annihilation. It may have a different name under a different publisher, but make no mistake fans, this is the T.A. sequel you've been waiting for. If you've got the horsepower to run it, you'd be stupid not to go pick it up. - Duke Ferris
