5 of 5 Works great Friday, June 06, 2008 T Jones from Rock Rapids, Iowa
took it out of box, plugged it in, worked great.
running vista, drivers installed automatically
haven't tried the software that came with it yet,
I used windows movie maker instead, no problems.
For the price it's hard to beat, especially if you consider
that it came with a cable, which by itself can be $12-15. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Amateur videographer Saturday, December 08, 2007 A Customer from California
I recently purchased a DV camcorder that required a firewire port and cable. I purchased this because the price was low, the reviews were good and the card came with the cable and digital video editing software. I followed the instructions. It all works very well. I highly reccomend this product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product Tuesday, August 07, 2007 A Customer from West Mifflin, PA
I was a little nervous about installing this drive, but it was extremely easy to do and it works great. This drive allows me to directly download video from my camcorder to the computer and create DVD's. I am very happy with the purchase. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Value Sunday, August 20, 2006 A Customer from Durham, NC
Considering that a Firewire Cable alone can cost the same as this card/cable bundle, this is a great choice. I used it for importing from a digital video camera and the installation of both the card and the bundled software went flawlessly. I am now looking to add external backup storage with this card now, easy to do since it has 2 ports. Was this review helpful?

I simply installed the card and started using it. I am running Linux and it had no problem recognizing the card. The card comes with its own DV cable which I did not know at the time of purchase. The price of the card with a cable is cheaper than some cables on their own.
I attached my video camera and was downloading video within minutes. Was this review helpful?

I purchased a Sony TRV-480 expecting to capture DVD quality videos. The videos play great on the camcorder, but I was unhappy with the quality of the videos with USB transfers to my PC. This kit solved all my problems. The Firewire (I-link) transfer finally created a movie file on my PC that is just as clear as the video straight from the camcorder. Plus this kit is a great deal, and it's a lot cheaper then buying an i-link cable and firewire card separate. The card was easy to install, and I was up and running within minutes. If you own a DV camcorder, this kit is a must have. Was this review helpful?
