The Feature-Length Conclusion to the Ori Saga.

This thrilling feature-length film picks up where Stargate SG-1 left off, thrusting the Stargate team -- Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks), Vala (Claudia Black), Teal'c (Christopher Judge), Sam (Amanda Tapping) and Cam (Ben Browder) -- into their most exciting adventure yet. In search of an ancient artifact they hope can defeat the oppressive Ori, the team learns that the Ori are set to launch a final assault on Earth and a double-crossing I.O. operative is aboard the Odyessy!

"As a finale to the Ori storyline, "Ark of Truth" hits the mark, and makes for a nice jumping off point to "Stargate: Continuum"..."  TheSciFiBlog Movie Review
"...packed full of the excitement, humor, and charm that characterized the "SG-1" series."  Christopher Disher, DVDizzy.com

Editor's Note

Written and directed by Robert C. Cooper, this direct-to-video release concludes the STARGATE SG-1's ORI story. This release takes the place of the series' anticipated but cancelled 11th season, and is set chronologically before STARGATE ATLANTIS' 4th season. In this release, SG-1 tries to reclaim the Ark of Truth, which has the power to control people, and therefore, lead to total destruction.

TheSciFiBlog Movie Review 8 of 10
There are elements of "Ark" that will appeal to longtime SG-1 fans, such as Vala's awkward reunion with Tomin (Tim Guinee), her "husband" from another galaxy; Mitchell finally gets to sit in "the chair"; Daniel continues to get help thanks to some timely visions of Merlin; and oh yeah, those pesky and really hard to kill Replicators make a major comeback...If you're a longtime fan of SG-1, then you should enjoy "Ark of Truth". It's a continuation of the series, and although it doesn't break any new grounds, or offer anything you haven't seen before in the series itself, it certainly has everything you've liked about the series, including interesting sci-fi threats, involving storylines, and great character interactions. Then again, if you aren't a fan of the Stargate universe to begin with, the movie will make no sense to you whatsoever...As a finale to the Ori storyline, "Ark of Truth" hits the mark, and makes for a nice jumping off point to "Stargate: Continuum", which I hear will have a completely different storyline. Also, there's a curious scene towards the end of "Ark" that makes you wonder what's happened to General O'Neill's supposed off-screen relationship with Sam Carter since Richard Dean Anderson left the show.

Apollo Movie Guide 6 of 10
I can't conceal the truth; the record is there for all to see. Long, long ago, way back before the Stargate SG-1 television series had achieved success and longevity, I panned the movie that started it all. And if you'd asked me back then whether it was likely to amount to a reasonably successful big-screen movie, a ten year run as a series, a spin-off of a new series, and a smattering of television movies to follow, I likely would have scoffed. Either that or made some cynical comment about what it takes to succeed in Hollywood...While I stand by my criticism of the original movie, I certainly can't deny the success of Stargate. So it's no surprise that the entertainment franchise built on a single gimmicky premise -- that of a portal through which it's possible to travel to all sorts of alien worlds that look an awful lot like earth at various stages of its history -- has come up with another movie, and another gimmick. Oh, the portal still exists, and now there's also the ark of truth, an ancient technology capable of wiping out the brainwashing of those who follow the dastardly Ori -- the current Great Threat to earth...Like with so many series and movies that are either long-running or based on other media, those who sit down to this movie as fans of its predecessors are likely to be happy with what they see, but those who are new to it are more likely to feel like they're sitting in on a private party. There's plenty of generic interstellar conflict and simplistic-character scene-chewing, but not a whole lot that's likely to win new viewers over...While it's been a long time since I trashed the original Stargate movie, I must say that this latest incarnation leaves me about equally cold. - Brian Webster

5 of 5 Great way to end the Ori Tuesday, August 26, 2008
A Viewer from NYC, NY

This was a great movie explaining the way the Ori ended and what made them in a way see the error of there ways. The arc of truth also has a hilarious bonus feature of the cast at comic con. In the end the whole movie was great.
