    1 of 5 Didn't work for windows XP. Beware!!!! Friday, January 25, 2008

    Beware!!! before you buy this product. I bought this product for transferring video from my Sony HC 48 handy cam. (Sony is again a piece of junk by not providing any better way to transfer videos to laptop other than Firewire :-) ) I tried to install this card on Windows XP/SP2(Lenovo T60/T41) and it crashed my Operating system. I had to format my laptop and reinstall OS. It got detected once but system hanged and once restarted after that it never got detected. It detected on Windows 2000 but did not work. so please read review/ contact Startech customer service and whatever you want to do before you really buy this product. But at the same time I don't yet know which one is better alternative to this card considering all reviews for this card are not bad. So just be prepared to return this. I am returning this product to buy.com but unfortunately I have to pay for the return shipping even this is a damaged piece, a piece of junk!

    Works as expected. I have found this to be the best value for use with a portable computer. The included cable is useful (6ft is great), but you may need an adapter or different cable depending on what you need to connect to.
