5 of 5 Countdown Adds Up Monday, May 11, 2009
Frank Singer from Erie, PA

I must admit right out that I have been a Star Trek fan almost from the beginning. I love the Star Trek universe, and am always fascinated by the twists and turns the various creators have taken. This restart of the original series, which begins with Countdown, has amazing potential to go virtually anywhere the storytellers wish to go, and it all starts with the setup in this four-part comic. Bringing us forward from Nemisis into the time of the story, we learn many things about our favorite characters (no spoilers here, sorry) from Next Generation and DS9. We also get the full back-story for the movie, which was a great way to get ready for the screening. While not a deep fan of comics, I have many of the Star Treks from recent past. Countdown is of high quality, relatively clear (even for the non-comic readers), and a complete work in its own right. I recommend this for anyone who loves Star Trek, for those who went or will go to the new movie, and for anyone that likes a good story in comic form. Live long and prespire.
