4 of 5 Set-Up Was a Challenge Wednesday, May 14, 2008 John from Lake Worth, Florida
This remote must be "paired" with the PS3 before it will work. I followed the instructions, pressing the Start and Enter keys while the PS3 player attempted to find the remote, but nothing happened. I read that others had the same problem. They were told to check batteries (mine were fine) and to turn off any other wireless devices such as routers (I had none). One person said he repeated the procedure several times and it finally was recognized. I tried that. After 3 consecutive attempts (while holding the remote right up close to the PlayStation), I had success. It now works perfectly and is worth its price. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Remote Saturday, March 15, 2008 A Gamer from The Windy City
Remote works fairly decent for a bluetooth. Range could be a little better. Only thing is I saved $6.18 when purchased at
W-Mart. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Solid Remote Thursday, March 06, 2008 A Gamer from Seattle, WA
If you are looking for a Blu-ray and media remote to use with your PS3 this is the best way to go. Easy to use, don't have to point it at the console, DOES turn off the console when you hold the PS button. Overall it was worth the $26 Was this review helpful?

This review is for the Playstation 3 and Sony optional remote combination. Sony made a big deal out the Blu Ray player capability of the Playstation 3. That's why I bought one. Then they provide no standard remote, which would be fine if you could use a Harmony or other universal remote. You can't because Sony in their total lack of wisdom provided no IR receiver (would have cost what, $2?) on the PS3. So you get to buy this inexpensive, but poorly thought out RF remote (small buttons, no back-light) and have an extra remote you don't want. Or you have to buy a third party IR receiver/remote combination and then manually program your Harmony or universal remote. Nice going, Sony, showing contempt for your customer, again. 5 of 5 Does what it is supposed to do. Wednesday, February 06, 2008 A Gamer from Muenster, TX
This remote control works great with the Sony Playstation3. The only problem I have is that it works by Bluetooth. I have a Logitech Harmony Universal remote that will not output Bluetooth commands, so that I am not able to program it to operate the Sony system. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good controller Sunday, February 03, 2008 Ken from Seattle, Washington
Wasn't thrilled about having yet another remote to keep track of. I wish that the PS3 would accept an infrared remote controller (like the one I have for Sony LCD TV). If if was both bluetooth and IR compatible that would be ideal. Having said all of that, the blue tooth remote controller is nice because it is not affected by line of sight problems that IR controllers can have if people are between you and your PS3 unit.

5 of 5 Very usefull Monday, December 24, 2007 A Gamer from Spokane, WA
If you want a comfortable way of using your PS3, you should get the remote. It's easy to use and no need to have the controller which is too clunky for just skipping scenes or using it for Blu-ray movies. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice Blue Tooth Connectivity Option Monday, November 05, 2007 A Gamer from Ohio
I wish that more companies used blue tooth wireless technology for communication. This remote is decent for PS3 and it nice to not have to POINT the remote at the device to send a signal. Infrared is a thing of the past. Let's get on with the Blue tooth remotes folks. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works Great Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Al from Austin, Texas
It may not be backlit, but hey for the price you just can't beat it, works flawlessly. Especially if you are watching a bluray, also beats using the controller, for movie watching that is. So far I'm very satisfied. Get's my thumbs up:) Was this review helpful?

As a "DVD" remote, this leaves something to be desired. The most-used buttons are very small, and there's no backlight. The button usage is different than other Sony products (e.g. can't hit play to start a movie when the movie's menu is displayed). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Useful Item... Saturday, August 11, 2007 A Gamer from Battle Creek, Michigan
This thing does what should, mostly. It saves steps for couch potatoes watching videos played on the PS3. About the only missing feature is the ability to kill power to the unit. Aside from that, it is actually easier to use than our regular DVD remote. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fine Remote Control Monday, April 30, 2007 Stephen from Dallas, TX
It does so much more than your standard controller can do while you're watching movies. Bluray discs have pop up menus that are a pain to access with your controller and this remote does it with one button push. Preforms exactly like you would expect it to. My only surprise is that since it works on your bluetooth network, you don't have to aim it at your PS3 for it to work. I find myself using it more than I thought I would; I use it to turn on my PS3 and play music from my library, or select games that I have downloaded. You don't need to pick up your controller until you're ready to actually play a game. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Does what it is supposed to do Tuesday, April 17, 2007 A Gamer from Denver, CO
Works as expected and beats the PS3 controller Was this review helpful?

Too many buttons on this thing. When I watch a movie, I want to play it, fast forward, ... the basics. I have the game controller for other options.
And, the one button it is clearly missing is a power off button (you can access by holding the playstation button, but this is a very unnecessary hassle). Was this review helpful?
