SlingPlayer for Windows Vista
Sling Media is happy to announce that its current SlingPlayer PC software (a free download that can be found at http://us.slingmedia.com/page/slingplayer.html is compatible with Microsofts just-released Windows Vista operating system. New and existing Slingbox customers (TUNER, AV, PRO and Classic) who own a Windows Vista PC (Desktop or Laptop) will be able to enjoy all the same benefits the SlingPlayer software has to offer on Windows 2000 and Windows XP-based systems. Sling Media has been working with Microsoft closely to ensure compatibility well in advance of the release of the Windows Vista OS.
Sling Media has also been working with Microsoft to deliver an optimized version of the SlingPlayer PC software that takes advantage of specific new features that can only be found on the Windows Vista OS. Specifically SlingPlayer for Windows Vista, which will be available as a free download for Slingbox customers from the same web URL above, features enhanced video rendering via Aero Glass and the ability to stream from multiple Slingboxes to one Vista-enabled PC using multiple gadgets in the sidebar.
Sling Media Delivers Your Home Television to Palm OS based devices.
SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS delivers the complete home TV experience to Slingbox owners who have a Palm OS based 700p Treo Smartphone. A trial version of SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS is available for U.S. and Canadian customers as a free download from Sling Medias software download pages, http://us.slingmedia.com/page/downloads.html & http://ca.slingmedia.com/page/downloads.htmlas part of the public beta program.
SlingPlayer Mobile is a software client that gives Slingbox customers the ability to watch and control their home TV from a variety of smartphones and handheld computers using either a 3G cellular or WiFi network connection. Unlike other services currently available for other mobile devices, SlingPlayer Mobile gives consumers their entire home TV experience. Anything that they can watch on their sofas back home, they can now watch via a compatible smartphone or handheld computer. In addition, SlingPlayer Mobile customers can control a home digital video recorder (DVR), such as a TiVo, to record shows, watch shows that have been previously recorded, and even pause and rewind live TV. All versions of SlingPlayer Mobile software are priced at $29.99 USD and $34.99 CAD. Support for other Palm OS-based devices will be included in future software releases.
The HD Connect Cable lets you watch your home televisions high definition programming by connecting your HDTV source to the Slingbox PRO. The HD Connect Cable has component video and stereo audio inputs and pass-through outputs, and is compatible with HDTV video services of up to 1080i resolution.
