Sex and the City chronicles the life of acclaimed sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw and her three friends - Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha, as they live their lives in New York City trying to find a balance between personal relationships and lots of good sex, and the challenge of juggling the two together. Moving between moments of sexual absurdity and profound realism, the show is a cross-section of the modern day realities - both real and mythological - of single women in North American society, of women coming into social and sexual maturity simultaneously...Whether you love it or hate it, the show has had a cultural impact and deserves to be respected - if only for managing to push the boundaries of what a television show can actually get away with (the solution, it seems, is to have your show on cable), pulling gags and stunts that other shows could never even hint at. - Adam Arseneau

I have seasons 1-4 and have enjoyed watching these episodes repeatedly! It's interesting to see the growth each characters undergoes as each season progresses. I have put off buying season 5 because it was only 8 episodes and I hoped it would be paired with season 6. Unfortunately, season six turned out the be the last and they decidided to mine gold with that in other ways. One word of caution; the plastic jackets are vunerable to breakage and wear out quickly. I had to reinforce mine with tape. If you are a Sex and the City Addict like me, you will enjoy these women and their escapades immensely. New York couldn't be portrayed any better (even if everyone doesn't have the time these girls seem to have, not to mention the money!). I highly recommend purchase of the entire city. The series begins with a great plot and story line...Sarah Jessica Parker develops her character into a strong willed person tired of accepting Mr. Big's shortcomings....If you like dressing up for a night on the town, with intuitive conversation and stimulating sex talk then this is the series for you...friendship is the key to this successful series...and the trials of life are very interesting when played out on the screen in front of you...These women are smart, funny and most of all beautiful...A must see!!!!
