Samsung 2233SW 21.5" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 15000:1 (DC), 5ms, 1920 x 1080, DVI

I like this monitor. Although, the first one I got had a loose power socket; Buy.com replaced it for me pretty quickly. I like replacement monitor I received from Buy.com.

Using it with a Mac. Works very well. Having 2 types of cables (DVI and VGA) a bonus. I bought a HP monitor to use with the another Mac, but it only came with a VGA cable which did not work as well with the Mac. Ended up buying a DVI cable to solve the problem. Only complaint is lack of height adjustment, but I knew that going in. Strongly recommend taking a look at this monitor.

Bought two, one for a desktop and the other for a laptop. Connecting to the desktop computer was relatively easy. Connecting to the laptop was not. And there were no clear instructions. Still not real happy with the laptop settings. The monitor however is beautiful and of good quality. Overall I would recommend it.

I'm using this as a second monitor for my MacBook. It works great, the colors are sharp. I didn't install any of the software that came with it. I just plugged it in. The assembly made me nervous. You have to really press hard to pop the base on. There is no height adjustment, just vertical angle rotation [which works really well]. Great monitor for the price!

I have nothing negative to say about this monitor. I upgraded from a 15" to a 23" and i am Pleased !

I have always liked Samsung monitors. These are a fantastic value especially at the current price level. I have 2 of these plugged into an older Matrox G450 dual head graphics board and they work fine. They worked right out of the box, no software required. It was very easy to adjust the color to my satisfaction. There is no flicker at all and the resolution is fantastic. I mailed in the form for the rebate and actually received an email that the rebate was being processed. I have never received an email about a rebate form anyone else.

Nice, pretty, clear, works great. Shorter than I expected, makes my other monitor look behemoth. I was a little nervous setting it up, since you have to really jam it into the base a little harder than I was comfortable with. Once I found the power button (harder than you'd think - it's on the right side) it worked just fine. A little too wide to fit on my desk with my other monitor, but that's not Samsung's fault. Awesome. Get it.

Great monitor for a great price. One raised eyebrow concerning the occasional dimming of the screen when on certain websites and whatnot. I don't know where in the chain of hardware/software this problem lies, I only know, I didn't have such issues w/ my old monitor. Another minor disappointment is the usual complete lack of mac support for the support software.

I am on my second unit as the first one was making loud clunking noises before I ever got it out of the box. It seems the VESA mounting bracket on the inside of the back cover had come lose. Monitor still worked great, but I returned it so that I could have one that could eventually be mounted. Replacement came and seems fine. Picture is good and I like that the screen has full HD 1920x1080 on a relatively small screen. Just make sure you get a good one.

Cheap price, good quality, have had no problems thus far, lil tricky to put together since you have to force the stand into the television, once ur past that, its smooth sailing....

I really like the picture quality on this monitor and the piano black look. The unit I received did have the mounting clip VESA issues inside the case that many people have written about. My biggest complaint is it seems like poor design on any LCD today to not have a height adjustable stand. I made the assumption that all did and was surprised to find this one with only a pivot base. If you want height adjustability, find a different LCD or by a desk/wall mount. It appears that Dell Ultrasharps have height adjustment but no 22" LCDs at 1080P.

This Samsung monitor blows the socks off the 15" monitor I had that came with my system. It's one of the clearest and brightest monitors I have seen. Glad I jumped on this when it was available. Easy set-up and a great value.

I was looking for a good monitor and a good price. 1st monitor received was broken ( screws in the back to mount it on the wall fell out of the monitor and were loose in the back panel of the monitor sent back for replacment) Got new one all ok. Installing the base was kinda of hard ( do not follow the insructions on the box lid read the directions)Also make sure you have something soft like a towel or the bag in came in to cover the screens face so you dont scratch it when you install the base. I had to get used to the screen it is kida wide and you have to play around with the adjustment. ( make sure its set to 32 bit windows vista) You can adjust the monitor under control panel apperiance and personalization/personalization,adjust screen resolution and find the setting you like. All in all I really like this monitor and my games and dvd movies look great on this. I would recommend this to anyone I got free shippinng and no tax great deal!

Crisp picture, brilliant color, extremely bright image. There are only 2 inputs, serial and DVI, but that should cover most user applications. Just don't plan to hook your xbox or other component/hdmi connection to this screen.

Don't forget, this monitor doesn't have an HDMI input. Also, this monitor showed up with a problem that apparently plagues a lot of these that are being sold cheaply...the wall mount bracket inside the back of the case was broken. This wasn't an issue for me as I just use it on my desktop for a Mac monitor. But if you want it for a wall mounted tv...wellllllllll! Other than that-one hell of a deal..

I am impressed with the clarity of this monitor and quite happy with my purchase overall. However, I had some difficulty trying to mount the unit onto the stand. After several attempts (and with a little bit more elbow-grease), I was able to snap it into place. I would have liked for the power button to be in the front because almost everytime I turn it off, I will inadvertently push one of the adjustment buttons!

This is my first exprience with flat screen minitors. I had some difficulty getting use to the adjustments. I contacted Samsung and a tech walked me through the procedure and now it is set up like I want it. The only problem, my computer wasn't able to handle adequate graphics to run it with some of the games I play...ie MS Flight SimX so I ended up building a new high-speed machine

I recently purchased a 2233BW, great monitor, with 1650 x 1000 max res. I wanted something with higher res, but without going to a 24". The 2233SW looked like the perfect choice, with only a minor difference; it's a 21.5" instead of 22" like the 2233BW. Initially you think 0.5" will not make a difference, but it definitely does. The 2233SW is much smaller than the 2233BW, it's about 1" lower, so esthetically, they look weird next to each other like I have them. Other than that, res, color, all looks great, specially the price. Good luck.

I received this monitor and it was broken. I have not used this monitor yet I sent it back for another one so I have no commet on the way the picture looks. Here is what happend. There are some clips on the back of the monitor so you can attached it to a wall mount. They came loose and were inside the back of the monitor jiggling around. I guess I could have taken the back of the monitor apart to reattached them but I should not have to do this and I would not recommend doing this. Samsung needs better packing or Buy.com need to ship it inside a box not just the retail box. It was shipped fed ex ground and the shipping was only 2 days which was fast. One more thing, I am used to mointors not being so (wide screen) this one might take some time to get used to that. All in all it looks like a nice mointor and good price if I can get one that is not damaged.

Do not read this review if you plan on using the included stand. This is applicable if you plan to wall mount it. This is a great monitor if you want a desktop monitor but I ordered this to wall mount it. The back of the monitor has four screw holes where you can attach it to the wall mount. The first monitor I ordered arrived and the plate that allow you to screw into the monitor had come loose and there were sounds of small pieces bouncing around inside. I returned it and ordered another one. The second one arrived with the same problem but it was not as bad. I removed the case lid as I am comfortable doing so having built computers. Do not do this if your inexperienced as you will inevitably break a plastic clamp doing it incorrectly. With that said I discovered two small metal pieces that provide the screw mounts internally. One had come off and was at the bottom of the monitor. I fixed it and it works great but I should not have to take a monitor apart to wall mount it. In Samsung's defense this is probably not an issue if you buy it a store as they are shipped to the store in bulk. I ordered from buy.com and had it shipped as a single unit. That probably caused the weak plastic clamp to break in transit but not enough to cause any other problems. It's clearly a design issue but since I love the lcd I could not return it and buy an Acer although I was tempted. I am sure Samsung will fix it but this isn't the experience I expected on my 10th or so Samsung product. Once again most people don't wall mount so I am sure most people won't notice. Optimistic of future quality products but disappointed. With that said now that it is installed I love it. I will now erase my memory of the horrific install process and enjoy years of quality viewing.

Crisp picture quality and exactly 16:9 ratio (not 16:10, as most 22" LCD), very bright. Quite a show piece. Highly recommended.

I must say when i placed the order for this monitor, i thought that i knew what i was getting. But in reality, when i finished setting and hooking this beast up i was blown away by the clarity and how easy it was to get fine-tuned to my PC. Overall i absolutely love this monitor and would recommend it to anyone who is looking. Plus the widescreen setting for movies, TV, and gaming is just bueno.
