4 of 5 Good Value, Not top of line through Wednesday, October 15, 2008
A Customer from Orlando, FL
I've had it for a month or two and it works great this thing is freaking huge! I paid less than 170 shipped. Pros: Large screen, good clarity, bright display. Worked out of the box no need to configure the monitor. Cons: Standby light can be seen from space at night!! I have no idea why. The light blinks when in stand by and if it's in your bedroom you won't be able to sleep. It also has several dead pixels in a line near the top that it isn't very noticeable. Overall, it's a good monitor that I would by again.

4 of 5 Good product at a great price Monday, October 13, 2008
Dave from West Des Moines, Iowa
Like many others, my monitor arrived with a few stuck pixels and one dead pixel. However, I was looking for a bigger LCD monitor at a rock-bottom price, and that is exactly what I found. The color and resolution is great, and the speakers, although small, are a nice plus. The only other con - no DVI cable included. Even with a few stuck pixels and no DVI cable, this monitor is a great deal.

5 of 5 Great bang for the buck Saturday, October 11, 2008
A Customer from Albuquerque, NM
I've been really tickled with its video quality after trying it with both VGA and DVI inputs. (Caveat: I'm not a gamer nor a real cineaste, just an office-type user, and can't speak at a connoisseur level to its response time or the blackness of the blacks or other such finer points.) No dead pixels or other defects that I've been able to notice. Haven't tried the speakers (and don't intend to -- a speaker that small in an enclosure that thin can only be expected to be so good, after all). All in all, a good 22" for a price I'd been looking at paying for a ~20". I'd buy it again and recommend that others put it on their short list.

5 of 5 Soyo 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor Saturday, October 11, 2008
Rajam Srinivasan from California
When I decided to go in for a Flat Panel monitor, I saw this very good deal in Buy.com. Without wasting time I bought this Soyo 22" Monitor. The installation was easy. It performs very well. I am happy with this purchase. I'll recommend my friends to go in for Soyo products.

5 of 5 Good monitor for the price Saturday, October 11, 2008
Stuart Hill from Deming, NM
Like many of the other reviewers, I took had many stuck pixels on the monitor, but I can live with them. They are only noticeable on a black background. Otherwise, the monitor is very nice looking and has good definition and color.

5 of 5 A very nice budget monitor...budget price=budget q Saturday, October 11, 2008
Adam R. from Centreville, VA
I saw this monitor on sale and saw that it got decent reviews, so I thought I'd take the risk. The monitor I received did not have any dead pixels and it has a beautiful (and large!) display, so for the price I'm very pleased with it. The "4" rating I gave due to uneven backlighting (the right edge has a few "hot spots") and the quality of the casing and stand, which are rather flimsy. The built in speakers are totally useless, but I don't care since I have nice sub & speaker set up for my machine.

5 of 5 Great Value, can deal with some dead pixels Wednesday, October 08, 2008
Justin from Lancaster, PA
This is the absolute best value for a 22" monitor you will find, screen definition is great, looks cool, is surprisingly light. The only con that I have (like many others) is there is a vertical line of dead pixels on the top left of the screen, it isn't enough to make it not worth the price though, just slightly annoying.

4 of 5 Does the job Wednesday, October 08, 2008
Gabriel Mendoza from Miami, Florida
For the price, this couldnt have come at a better time as ive been waiting for the 20"+ LCDs to drop below $175. The only problem(s) im encountering are: 2 stuck pixels at the very top, almost dead center (only visible in when the screen is black). And my other problem seems to be a ghosting issue which can sometimes get bad and then i start auto adjusting and working settings to get it right... this is pretty annoying. Other than that. I am very satisfied with my purchase and being that this was my first 22" monitor i must say i was surprised that it was bigger than i had expected (this is a good thing!)

4 of 5 Right price for quality Wednesday, October 08, 2008
A Customer from White Lake, MI
First of all, there were no burned out or frozen pixels on the monitor. This was stated in many reviews, but no problem for me. The contrast ratio of 1000:1 does not create dark blacks and also creates shadowing around letters in word docs and emails. Nothing tragic, but it cannot be adjusted away. Set up was easy, factory settings are decent with minimal adjusting required. Speakers are useless and would recommend not even plugging them in. When the monitor goes into sleep mode, the blue LED power indicator flashes like a light house endlessly. Picture quality is pretty good and overall for the money ($160) a decent monitor for the price.

5 of 5 Great item at a great price! Wednesday, October 08, 2008
CP from Marietta, GA
I ordered this particular 22" monitor based on the reviews of the item when researching it. The price was great, and the clarity is wonderful. It was quick and easy to set up, and I've noticed a great reduction on my eye strain since I am on the computer all day, and this is a terrific size. I highly recommend this monitor, an overall great buy, terrific performance, and I would definitely buy another one if the situation arises. I say go for it, you will not be disappointed at all.

5 of 5 Great Monitor Wednesday, October 08, 2008
A Customer from Gallipolis, OH
This is a wonderful monitor. Great size and great price. Picture quality is good and I could not find any dead pixels. The only complaint I have is a minor one. The controls on the monitor are small and located under the monitor face. They were a little hard to find as they are hidden from view. Otherwise I have no complaints and I am very satisfied.

5 of 5 Amazing for the Price Wednesday, October 08, 2008
Wayne from New York, NY
I don't know how they offer this so cheap as it's at least $100 less than any other 22" I have seen on the market. I with I ordered two of them because now they are sold out. I figured I would test one and see the quality before ordering another one which was a mistake because the quality is perfect. A steal for this price. I'm watching like a hawk to see if buy.com gets any more in for this price.

4 of 5 Good buy Wednesday, October 08, 2008
JKS from Rock Hill, SC
I, as others, have the dead pixel problem. One bright green spot and a quarter inch red stripe at the top. Neither really affect things yet. If they get longer or bigger it could be a problem. Right now, it is very usable.

4 of 5 One thing to watch for... Tuesday, October 07, 2008
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
The first one I received had a few pixels that were stuck green at the top of the monitor in a vertical 1/4 line three inches from the right hand side. I returned the monitor for a replacement (that took way too long, but that's another story). The replacement monitor has the same problem although not as pronounced. I decided that I could live with rather than go through the return or replacement procedure again. Color is great, monitor looks cool.

4 of 5 Good value for you money Tuesday, October 07, 2008
A Customer from Miami, FL
I bought this Soyo 22", already owned a Samsung 22" that I can compare against. Pros: Price, price and price. And price. Cons: Arrived with two dead pixels but you don't even notice them in regular use. When displaying a black background you still see some of the white backlight. Conclusion: If are really picky and plan to do professional photography work do not get this monitor. But if you fall in the 99.99% of the users that really use internet/office/business applications/etc. (like I do) you cannot beat the value for the money.

4 of 5 Not bad for the price Tuesday, October 07, 2008
A Customer from Atlanta, GA
Bought two of these. Both had short (8 to 10 px) single lines of dead green pixels at the top of the screen. All other specs are good. Good contrast, onboard menu is comprehensive and auto setup works well with a variety of systems. I'd probably buy another one at this price.

5 of 5 Excellent value Tuesday, October 07, 2008
A Customer from Linden, MI
I'd been looking for a good deal on a 20+ inch LCD monitor, and I found it with this one. There were no issues with dead pixels and I'm extremely please with the picture quality. An earlier review had commented on the bright blue power indicator, and it is distractingly bright. But my monitor is surrounded with sticky notes, so I just placed one over the light. You can still see the light through the sticky note, but it's muted perfectly.

5 of 5 nice monitor Saturday, October 04, 2008
A Customer from red wing mn
I read the reviews about the bad pixels and its true, there are some at the top right but I didn't even notice them at first and they don't bother me now at all. I watch movies, do school work, and just surf and it works well with good colors. With the extra width I can comfortably have two windows up at the same time and do work. If you are looking for this size monitor I highly recommend it. I haven't used the speakers at all and I won't so I can't say anything about them.

5 of 5 great value monitor Thursday, September 25, 2008
A Customer from phoenix, AZ
I just received my new Soyo 22in monitor today. I plugged it in and it worked fine. So far I have not seen a need to make any adjustments. As with a number of reviews there are a few pixels out along the very top edge. Honestly it took me a while to find them, and they will not bother me at all. I have not used the built in speakers, but I am pretty sure they will be marginally better than the ones on my laptop. I have been looking at larger flat screens for a while and this was the best value I could find. Plus no tax and free shipping makes it all sweeter.

5 of 5 Excellent for the price Thursday, September 25, 2008
A Customer from Mesa, AZ
I use a HP w2207 at work and had to have a 22" widescreen at home. While that monitor is around $130 more and it more sturdily built and can swivel vertically (which I've only ever used once) the picture on that one and this one are almost identical. Great monitor with a slight mark off on ease of use for button the buttons on the bottom of it with tiny labeling. I would definitely recommend this monitor at this price to friends.

4 of 5 Several dead pixels. Tuesday, September 23, 2008
A Customer from Eagle,MI
The monitor picture quality is good but had several dead pixels, one being a nearly solid red line 3/16 of an inch long. Build in speakers aren't great but I didn't need or expect it. Good monitor for the price.

4 of 5 Not a bad monitor for the price Tuesday, September 23, 2008
A Customer from Birmingham, Al
I first thought the monitor was defective. It had bad smearing and ghosting on the screen, and I could see "interference" lines when the screen was black. It turns out it was the (cheap) VGA cable. I got a DVI cable and it looks great now. It did have 2 dead pixels, on in the top right corner, and one on the bottom left. The dead pixels don't bother me much because they aren't in the middle of the screen. For the money I'm happy.

Joe from Chicago, IL
I like it, I'd buy it again. I don't think it looks quite as good as my iMac display but it's 98% as good for one hell of a price. In fact, I might buy another one now that it's 20$ cheaper LOL!

An amazing buy. You simply can't get a better deal right now, with free shipping. I game and produce video(dual monitor setup) and I am very, very impressed. I was worried since it's kind of an off-brand, but I'm very satisfied so far and I'm a picky customer.

5 of 5 Worth the money Thursday, September 04, 2008
MC from Milltown, NJ
Bought one to see if it is worth the money, did not disappoint. There were three dead pixels near the very top edge but didn't matter since the menu bar covered it. Then bought a second one a week later and this one is perfect. Have them hooked up to my Apple G5 side by side and is great.

5 of 5 SOYO 22" DYLM2284 Tuesday, September 02, 2008
WinCrazy from Ambler, PA
Pros: Well worth every penny of the one-eighty bucks paid for it. No other competing models come close at the moment. Great looking display and plenty wide enough viewing angle. DVDs look great on the screen - backlight bleed is never noticeable. The extra large contrast ratio helps. ----- Cons: I had to think hard: There is one stuck pixel near the top edge of the screen. ----- Other Thoughts: I thought the hidden control buttons under the bottom lip of the frame were going to be a hassle. Not really ! They're easy to use because they were purposefully spaced well apart to avoid mixing them up. It's no problem that they are made of rubber instead of the typical plastic. Turn the backlight down to about 40% and the contrast to about 72%. The brightness setting is accessed in a 2nd-level menu titled "Extended" - a bit annoying for a setting that is critical. But, once it's set, that's it.

4 of 5 Ok but not wonderful Tuesday, September 02, 2008
rob from Newbury Park, CA
This unit comes with the display, vga cable and audio cable. There is no DVI cable, but there is a DVI input port. The control are buttons underneath the monitor and the labels are impossible to see without a magnifying glass. The power LED is bright enough to light up a dark room at night. The quality of the display is fair, and I've only detected one bad pixel. Text could be a little crisper, but I have no trouble reading the monitor. Watching video is good, as long as your eyes are near 90 degrees to the screen. The speakers are very tinny, no bass expasion. I found them unacceptable for music or movie sound. All in all I'm satisfied but not thrilled with the purchase. It was inexpensive so I did not expect something wonderful and did not get it either.

4 of 5 Not bad - for the price Tuesday, September 02, 2008
Erik from Michigan
It took a while to get delivered, but with free shipping what do you expect? The monitor itself has many reviews online, mostly agreeing on one thing: dead/stuck pixels. Mine was no exception. Mine came with a few stuck pixels at the top center. I don't mind them being there; it's not like they are in the way of every application I use. The picture quality is great though. The contrast ratio is good (1000:1) and the brightness I can't complain about either. I took advantage from signing up for the Buy.com credit card bringing my purchase grand total down to $149. Basically, that is equivalent to $100 discount for a few dead/stuck pixels. Not bad. I would recommend this monitor to anyone who is willing to accept a few dead pixels and just plain wants lots of monitor real estate. I would not recommend this to any serious gamers or anyone looking for a cheap movie/HD monitor.

3 of 5 Nice but Tuesday, September 02, 2008
Bill Welchel from Atlanta, GA
Nice monitor. Easy to hook up and vista recognized it at once. My complaint, it has a dead pixel in the lower left portion of the screen(it is ontside the range of most vid formats to it does not affect me too much.). I could probably return it for exchange or credit but I guess you get what you pay for.

JustJoe from Hackensack, NJ
I started to read reviews on this item AFTER I ordered it, Most of the reviews came from another site, and I started to get a little apprehensive, the reviews spoke of dead pixels, and bad units. When I got mine, NO dead pixels, unit was perfect. 22" monitor for this price, I wish I bought 2.

5 of 5 Good Monitor for the money Tuesday, September 02, 2008
A Customer from Brick, NJ
Very Good Monitor for the money. Only negatives are the internal speakers aren't that great, they work but sound quality isn't the best, also no independent volume control for speakers, volume must be adjusted through monitor onscreen menu. Overall, very satisified with monitor, just keep your stereo speakers.

5 of 5 what more can I say ! Monday, September 01, 2008
BigOK from Lake City, MN
this is a great product I will most likey order this product . amd recomend this product. it is that great for the price. I am a computer rebuilder. I also give away free computers, I have used this monitor for a couple of weeks and it works great, In my business I change computers all the time, sometimes several times a day, their has been no problems going from computer to computer. with other monitors do have a problems of switching computers. Note is is very esy to read and Ican have more stuff opened up on the computers when I am installing software and so on. I give this a computer a 10 rating for the price and Note I do not have any dead Pixels, I have a very large hearing loss, so sound does not matter. Most monitors that have on board sound is not that great. So do not be so cheap and buy a good set of speakers. that is what I do on my main computer at home.

5 of 5 Excellent :-) Sunday, August 31, 2008
stardustvideo from Rockport Texas
Ordered two monitors. Arrived promptly by FED EX. Good e-mail confirmations from buy.com. Very happy with this company. Will be buying again. Monitors were easy to sit up on both of my computers. My XP PRO OS picked them up right away. No drivers to install or download. "Plug and Play so to speak" Since I now had a larger screen, was able to kick up to a much higher resolution. Loved all of the extra real estate on my desk top. Tried the built in speakers. Lousy tinny sound. Not a problem. Decided to stick with my regular external sound system. Only minor problem. One dead pixel on my monitor, and two dead pixels on my wifes monitor. Since the were on the upper right hand corner on both monitors, ignored them because they are hardly noticible. For the low price, I can live with that. I plan on buying two more later this month for my video editor.
