5 of 5 Does what it says it will. Thursday, March 08, 2007 A Customer from Kinnelon, NJ
Very easy to use. If you can find the video file on your hard drive, you can do this. I have no complaints at all. I wish everything was this easy and worked this well. Just realize that this does not work on protected files. Was this review helpful?

Now I have more justification for getting my PSP portable. I can play games and now put video on it as much as I want. That also gives me more options than getting an iPod. I'm not against iPods but I think the price is high considering that it will only last as long as the battery does. However since there are many users, this software does have a lot of iPod conversion tools. I make use of the PSP tools and I'm statisfied that the compression keeps the quality high enough, especially when looking at a small screen. My one complaint is that I would like these features in Toast so you would only need one program for all disc and video conversions. Maybe the next upgrade will combine them, but for now it's a must have for portable player users. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Mainly for portable players Friday, August 04, 2006 B. Nash from New Florence, MO
There are so many digital media products that I started to get confused what does what. Luckily I have a good disc authoring program because Popcorn 2 is not that type of program. It does have some dvd management features such as disc copy, but it's not really a full burner program. Instead the heart of this program concentrates on tools for transferring video to portable players. Now I'm using my cell phone as a video player. I hope to get a PSP in the near future so the software will be good for that format too. Was this review helpful?

The iPod is such big business for Apple that you would have thought they would have put more into their software development. Roxio has a great product to fill in some gaps. Not only does Popcorn 2 convert video for iPods, but it also works on the Sony PSP. Compression is a key component in order to get lots of video time on the portables. This software has the answer.
I didn't think you could use this product for hard drives, but it does store dvds onto the Mac directly. This is a good option to make a backup for your dvd. After all, home burnt ones have limited shelf life. Was this review helpful?

I've been using a Toast for a long time so I'm familiar with the program. It is easy to use Pop2 anyway, but even easier for Toast users. I've been taking advantage of the 'Directors Cut' so I can edit the videos before I put them on my iPod. I'm thinking of getting a portable video game player and since this program transfers video to the PSP, that may be the swing point for me. Was this review helpful?

I'm glad Popcorn 2 is available because I haven't been 100% satisfied with QuickTime Pro and the price. This software has even better video conversion for playing on iPods. In fact if you haven't bought QT Pro yet, you might consider this program instead. There are also a bunch of other portable player formats that the software supports. Who knows, you may get a phone or PSP to use as a player.
The other part of the program is dvd disc copying. That doesn't include transferring from a hard drive to dvd, only dvd to dvd copying. It does let you edit the content though before the dvd is burned. Was this review helpful?
