PCs are more complicated than we would like so performance and experience varys from pc to pc. For me easy media performed and installed without major problems. I can now easily handle my music, photos, and videos with this one product. There are many good music programs so the unique feature is the jukebox and auto data input. Most songs can be tracked with the program and it will provide song data. With the jukebox I can sort and organize songs with the data. Usually I choose genres so I listen to more upbeat music or slower tunes. I also made a mix of my favorite songs.
It makes photo shows easily too. I like the show styles and like the speed which I can make them at. I use easy media to transfer video to my ipod. There are other devices that it supports so if I get another kind the program won't be obsolete. Was this review helpful?

Since this is a suite there are many programs to consider. The main burning product may be the best of its kind. It eliminates many technical steps and will decide the steps based on the user's disk preference. It also has a drag and drop icon for really fast burning. The burning time can be time consuming but that also depends on the burning drive speed.
The editing programs run the gamut of being easy to difficult. I'd place the music and photo programs in the easy category. The video program can be easy but it can get difficult if you want to use the multilayer editing. I think this is true of all video editing software so it is a matter of picking one program to learn. At least videwave is as good as most video editing programs. Was this review helpful?

I don't know much about formats and conversions so this is the perfect program for me. It will do many conversions wihtout me thinking. If I want to put video on my ipod it will do it for me wihtout having to know the file type. I can also choose the compression amount. I've just started with the other programs but for now I'd say they are very complete and you don't need to buy side programs. Was this review helpful?

I've been making mixes of my music since the days of lps and cassette tapes. I've used and researched many varieties of software for this, including earlier versions of Roxio. I have to say, with EMC version 10, Roxio seems to have really gotten it right!
Some strengths:
- EMC sees all your music, but doesn't force you into its single management system like Itunes or Windows Media Player. You simply drag and drop either from a master sortable list of tracks and artists or from your own file structure, into an album or project you can manipulate any way you want.
- Making customized crossfades is a breeze! Other programs either make you use the same overlap or gap for every transition, or use a complicated sound wave editing format. EMC10 just lists the songs in your mix and includes buttons for the length of the overlap and the kind of crossfade.
- When you make a mix with crossfades, it still retains track markers so you can jump between tracks, unlike some other programs that force the whole mix into a single mp3.
- Important: automatic track volume leveling actually works! And you can manually adjust the volume of individual tracks without leaving your mix project, along with other effects like equalizing or eliminating clicks.
- The mixes burn nicely on CDs and play flawlessly on CD players. You don't know how many coasters I've made over the years.
There are other features if you want, sound editing and exporting to portable music players and such. There's a decent CD labeling program, although for some reason it doesn't provide a good way to list both songs and artists (you have to rename songs to include the artist name as well). And of course there's all this other stuff about photos and videos which I guess could come in handy but it doesn't get in the way.
All in all I have to say Roxio has made my favorite hobby of making personal music mixes fun and fast so I can concentrate on the sound. Thank you, Roxio! Was this review helpful?

This suite offers and awful lot of useful programs; back-up, numerous disc burning options, video capture and editing, audio editing. So far everything I tried works, but the interface is cumbersome. It has 8 options in the toolbar and each of those has numerous options under that, many duplicated elsewhere. The main screen is NOT re-sizable, whats with that? I had an older version of VideoWave, so was anxious to get a new version that actually works on Vista, but was disappointed when the "Capture" portion couldn't find my Canopus ADVCC110 capture device. It finds it using the video capture utility by itself, but fails to when trying from within VideoWave, go figure! This back-up utility is virtually worthless for me as it is VERY limited in what controls it allows, there is no "Duplicate my HD" option, it only backs up data files (and you can't even specify file extensions), not system files, say what? Overall most of the typical Roxio stuff works well, creating CDs and DVDs, which is why I bought it, so I'm being generous with the ratings because it does what I'm asking it to do, once you wade through the glitter, and confusing home page. This product needs some common sense applied to it! Was this review helpful?

I loaded this program and as soon as I restarted as requested. My computer Displayed "NTLDR is missing". I Could not restart without reformating my hard drive and loosing everything, programs, files, everything. The people that sell this junk should be in jail. Roxio is a complete waste of time and money. I tried it on another computer at my office same thing. Good thing I have backups. Still it's a lot of time and frustration with this garbage. I will never buy a Roxio product. Stay as far away from Roxio as you can. $90.00 down the drain and all day spent fixing my computers. Was this review helpful?

Although Easy Media Creator 10 has an enormous number of features, accessing or even understanding most of them will require an infinite number of hours of trial and error to become even moderately proficient. First of all, the memory requirements should be a MINIMUM of 2GB as it is a memory hog and, having less than 2GB guarantees that your hard drive is going to have a heart attack. Also, the CPU speed should be a MINIMUM 3GHz, preferably a dual core or core 2 duo or it will take forever to boot as the program will keep the cpu at 100% until it just hangs. Having purchased the program to make archival copies of movies and music cds that I own so that I do not destroy the originals, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that this was not an easy task, but one that would require quite a few steps in order to complete. So, be prepared for a long learning curve which will ease up just in time for the next version!! Was this review helpful?

unfortunately, there is no rating less than 1 - otherwise i would be happy to give this product a minus rating. it freezes and then it crashes whenever i try to do anything. i have reloaded it at least twice with no luck. the menus are confusing. the software is bloated - which may be why it's not working. i am not new to computers. and i am not new to software. and i have NEVER had a worse product. ever. if they're giving it away it wouldn't be worth it -- they'd have to pay me for my wasted time to get me to buy it. I've always liked Roxio's programs and think that their programs are made to be as easy for the user as possible. In this area they keep improving. I found version 10 to make more sense. They've also added tutorials and more online content. I've used the sound recorder a lot but now there is a gadget tool which can reside in memory. This makes sense since much of what I want to record is spur of the moment. There is a back tracking option too so it include sound that was playing before you start the process. It's clever addditions like this that make it better than basic media software. Was this review helpful?
