Works great, as long as you're in same room as your child. On the other side of the wall, it may or may not work. Effective range inside our house (average house) is about 5 to 10 feet. The speaker clicks constantly. If the camera is near a table lamp, it shuts down after an hour, and you get no warning except a silent "NO SIGNAL" banner on the screen. If it's left on for more than 8 hours, the camera will often just stop working, giving you no alarm that you're not receiving good data (other than the silent "NO SIGNAL" banner). Though we should NEVER leave our childre un-attended, if you use this to monitor your child while temporarily running to the frige to fill a bottle or quickly put in a load of laundry, don't depend on this unit...because even the audio goes dead when you loose the picture. I got it, tested, assumed it was faulty, got it replaced, same thing; getting a refund.
The product looks nice and sturdy, the controls are nice and easy, but the issue is the performance and the display quality.
The system is very very prone to interference. Line of sight, 20-30 feet and I already got enough interference that makes the picture jump few times a second, the speaker clicks constantly. Try to use it across a wall or few - good luck to you. Being 2.4GHz I figured maybe it's the phones or the wireless - so I tried it on battery power out of town in open area, at neighbors'' houses, no difference. Almost as it created it's own interference.
Also the display is viewable well only when straight in front of your face; any angle and the display looks really bad.
Too bad because the price and physical layout of the device were quite nice and I would love to keep it if it worked well.
