I bought this when about to take a class in Mandarin Chinese. Boy, I love gadgets! I would suggest you wait to see if you need something like this!!!
The pen is identical to the "last version" of something called a C-Pen. Reviewers say the PenPower model version is better than the current one. Both cost about $109 and are from a German company. Google and eBay!
What makes this gadget unique is the software, which PenPower sells for about $75 by itself. There is also a boxed version with a tiny tablet that comes with the software for a similar high but slightly lower price. I bought the tablet stand alone for $50, but the software doesn't recognize it as the integrated version, but I don't know if it matters! Was this review helpful?

I'm very pleased with this Chinese learning tool. This pen scanner is high-tech and amazing to recognize Chinese character fast. I don't waste time typing. For this software, my son practice his Chinese speaking and reading on his own. There is no doubt this product is good for learner to studying at home. It is a reliable deal and save my money.
Actually, I had several of this company's product such as Handwriter. This is another reason why I want to try this learning product. Was this review helpful?

I'm so happy to buy this pen scanner version. I have to deal with some Chinese companies and read a lot of documents. This pen scanner makes it easy and quick. Typing is totally wasting time and scanning is helping me a lot. Through this software I also could see every meaning without any dictionary. I was given one of this as a birthday gift since my Chinese friend knew I am learning Chinese. At first, I wasn't so sure how this can help me. But after getting used to it, I found it really useful. I used to download some of the free software from the internet that can either pronounce the Chinese characters, or translate a word or a phrase. But now I have a complete tool that can do all those things in one package. How cool is that! Was this review helpful?
