I Want A Dog For Christmas, Charlie Brown! centers on the lovable, but ever-skeptical ReRun, the younger brother of Linus and Lucy. The story begins during Christmas vacation. ReRun is having a rough time with Lucy - who is behaving like her normal bossy and fuss-budget-like self. And as always, he is stressed out from riding on the back seat of his mother's bicycle. Which is very understandable! Her driving is erratic, and ReRun is constantly on the lookout for potholes, brick walls, and parked cars that seem to frequently come their way.To relieve his stress, ReRun turns to Snoopy for amusement. But as we all know, Snoopy tends to have his own agenda - and that does not necessarily mean being ReRun's ever-faithful companion. So ReRun decides to ask Santa Claus for a dog of his own, much to the dismay of his mother. Nevertheless, ReRun has Snoopy write to his canine brother Spike and request a visit from him. When Spike shows up, it looks as if ReRun will have his Christmas dog after all... But then the trouble begins.

A post-Charles Schulz Christmas special based on his timeless Peanuts characters, I WANT A DOG FOR CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN shifts the focus to Lucy and Linus' younger brother Rerun. Ignored by his blanket-toting brother and tormented by his uber-bossy sister, Rerun longs for a canine companion to brighten his troubles. But things look bleak for the lonesome tot when his mother refuses to get him a dog for Christmas and Charlie Brown declines to sell Snoopy--until he learns that Snoopy's brother Spike will be coming for a Christmas visit! Then it's time for some holiday mayhem as the rambunctious Spike brews up some mischief and it's up to the unfortunate Rerun to straighten out the mess. I WANT A DOG FOR CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN is a worthy addition to the animated pantheon of Peanuts classics.
