| | | | The DMC-FZ5K Lumix Digital Camera is a small, lightweight camera that has as much power as bigger 40mm film cameras. The super-bright 12x Optical Zoom and 4x Digital zoom gives the flexibility required to capture every detail. The MEGA Optical Image stabilizer has a gyrosensor that compensates for shaking hands, while the Fast Auto focus gives you a sharp shot of a fast-moving subject. Snap off consecutive shots at 3 frames per second, until you fill the Memory card with Unlimited Consecutive Shooting. The positioning of controls and the shape of the grip have also been improved. It's a great camera at a reasonable price.

I never rate anything "tops", 5 in this case. However, I have to rate this camera a "5" on every issue. The quality of the lens, plus the internal processing results in outstanding quality photos, even if you only "point and shoot". The user interface is much better than the Canon I have been using. The image stabilization lets you take clear images using the long telephoto (12x), even from a moving boat! I could have sold a dozen of these, just showing it to friends. Was this review helpful?

Pros:
1. Great picture quality.
2. Leica lens with IS, simply the best.
3. Very fast focus.
3. Smaller and more portable than Canon S2 IS or Sony H1.
4. Better price, better value.
Cons:
1. Motion image only 320 x 240 pixels.
2. No manual focus.
