This album presents songs featured in the blockbuster heist film OCEAN'S TWELVE, along with the score by composer David Holmes. Some of this music comes from obscure 1960s and '70s artists, while the Holmes-penned tracks show the distinctive influence of those eras. Because of this sonic slight-of-hand, it is entertainingly difficult to tell the difference between the newer and the older material. |

The funky rock number "L.S.D. Partie," by Roland Vincent, comes complete with the sound of a scratchy record player, while "Explosive Corrosive Joseph," performed by John Schroeder, is a psychedelic tune, replete with fuzzed-out guitar lines. "Lazy" beautifully combines a retro groove with '60s-era horn loops borrowed from Philip Lane's "City Skyline." In general, this is an upbeat, funky soundtrack that's perfect for late-night house parties or, of course, for watching impeccably dressed movie stars wander around European cities. |
