No problems so far after 2 weeks use. The cheapest price you'll find for 2x2GB 800MHZ SODIMMs, especially with the rebate, and OCZ seems to be a good brand. Went from 2GB to 4GB. No noticable speed increase but the extra RAM helps a bit when opening multiple apps as the system doesn't have to utilize the page file as much, if any. Was this review helpful?

Sony's custom config wanted an additional benjamin to upgrade from a standard 2GB to 4GB. Getting these from Buy.com is a more sensible deal that just requires a few minutes to install into a VGN-FW290 (T9600 2.8ghz) running Windows Vista64. This OS recognizes all 4Gb and haven't had any negative issues throughout these several weeks. My system's being used for CAD and Adobe CS4 Production Premium Suite (Premiere, AfterEffects, Encore). For these specific tasks, 4Gb is borderline insufficient, but it'll have to do until 2 x 4Gb modules come down in price. Vista's SideBar system monitor more often than not shows my RAM usage at 70%. Having finished a couple high-definition shorts, I can get by with this config, but I'm sure I'll be sludging with longer complex projects. For Photoshop/Illustrator work, things seem to be running fine with these 4Gb under Vista64. Was this review helpful?

This memory made my Vista laptop run like a breeze. Note that, unless you have the 64 bit version of Vista, your laptop will only use 3 of these 4 GB.
