1 of 5 Edit on "Effective" review from Alfred Tuesday, July 07, 2009 A Gamer from Alfred NY
Don't buy. Pretty much the day after I wrote that review the fan completely died. Couldn't have been more than three months old. The 'gamer from CA' is right, it was loud to begin with then one day it got ridiculously loud with clicking, then stopped entirely. When I found it the fan was really hot to the touch, so it actually could have assisted in overheating my Wii (luckily it didn't). Later upon inspection one of the fan blades fell off entirely...under normal use...still can't figure that one out. So yeah, it looks cool and feels well built but will die in a very short period of time Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 work only for couple months Tuesday, June 16, 2009 A Gamer from CA
From reading most reviewers, they usually talk about Wii has heat problem or not or works well when first got it. They don't really talk about the quality of the products like how long it lasted. You can't tell the quality form the way it looks.
When I first got the Wii intercooler, it works well other than the loud noise. When the Wii is on (with green light), don't really need this Intercooler since the internal fan works just fine. Only need it during standby mode (orange light and fan is OFF) and you have WiiConnect24 running.
After couple months of use, the fan suddenly make even louder noise. And when I check the fan, it spin but no longer move much air. Actually it may have blocked the internal fan. I would expect it works a bit longer than couple months. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Effective Saturday, May 23, 2009 A Gamer from Alfred, NY
Keeps the Wii cool, but very noisy. Looks like it belongs with the white plastic color scheme. Small and light weight and it does move some air. Sometimes it gets stuck in the vent holes but it eventually pops out. I would recommend this product to keep your Wii significantly cooler but again it is noticeably loud. It can be turned off with the Wii which is nice.
By the way I don't work for Nyko, so this isn't a 'planted' review. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A bit noisy, but worth it! Saturday, March 28, 2009 A Gamer from Montana, USA
To help prolong the life of my Wii by cooling it down, I went with this Nyko Wii Intercooler. It installs easily, works well, shuts off when the Wii is powered off, and I also like the way this utilizes pass-through power instead of USB power.
The fan on this is a bit loud, due to it being about 40mm and needing to turn at a high RPM in order to move sufficient air. I keep the Wii in a glass cabinet, which helps to block much of the fan whirr. (Of course, the back of the cabinet has plenty of ventilation holes in it, which is a must!)

5 of 5 WORTH 50X MORE THAN THE PRICE Friday, March 20, 2009 imdrmarshall from San Diego, Ca.
Before i got this i was really worried about how long it was going to be before my Wii just totally melted right in front of me. Even tho i am already a fan of Nyko products, i was a bit skeptical of how well it was going to work (if at all) for the minuscule price of $2.44... but i decided what the heck for that price i would try just about anything. This has to be, by far one of the best aftermarket products (figuratively speaking)i have ever purchased!! Now i can touch anywhere on my Wii and barely even tell its on...and its not loud at all... i would say its about 1.5x as loud as the Wii by itself. Overall i give it 5 stars!!!!! 5 of 5 Very easy to install Tuesday, October 07, 2008 shopper from odenton, MD
I recieved this fan few weeks ago. The installation required no skills and takes no time. The fan turns off and off when the WII is turned off and on. It is inexpensive and worth every penny. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Good fan when playing for long hours Sunday, August 17, 2008 A Gamer from Pittsburgh, PA
I've installed this fan few weeks ago. The installation require no skills and take no time. It is noisy but you won't notice while playing game. The fan turns off and off when wii is turned off and on. Sure, it will make wii fun much more and longer hours since it will perform at optimum when it's not too hot. It is inexpensive and worth every penny. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works fine, a bit loud though Friday, August 15, 2008 bp4 from Stamford, CT
Fan works fine, connect to the rear fan grid, and power connects in between the power cord. It was inexpensive to buy. It is a bit loud, I have it in a cabinet, so it was ok.

4 of 5 An answer for overheating Wii Wednesday, August 13, 2008 Omahawk from Princeton, NJ
If your Wii powers down unexpectedly mid-game, you are one of the unfortunate ones to have an overheating problem. This is an answer for you. We have not had any problems since installing it. It snaps right to the system and the pass through power is really nice. It is noisy however, especially given it's size, but you can't complain too much for the price.

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Pretty good product, if you need it. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 #1 Killer from Pittsburgh, PA
I recently purchased the Intercooler because I noticed my Wii getting warm from sitting in a smaller space next to my TV. Shortly after installing the product, I noticed a difference in the temperature of the Wii. It stays much cooler now. The product clips onto the fan vent on the back of the Wii, but can be difficult to take back off. My only complaint with the product is that it runs a little bit loud. If you leave your Wii in standby for WiiConnect then you will have to listen to the fan all the time, which can be obnoxious. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good for the money Tuesday, August 12, 2008 A Gamer from bloomfield, NJ
It really cool down my Wii but its quite noisy. Anyway nobody will notice it once you turn up the volume of your tv/sound sys and enjoy the Wiiiiiiiii. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 worth the price Tuesday, August 12, 2008 A Gamer from Cincinnati, OH
I picked this up just for a little insurance to keep my Wii cool. A lot of people claim that a cooler is not needed for the Wii, but I think at $8 shipped, it's worth the price. It is a little loud, and continues to run if you have WiiConnect24 on, only shuts off when the Wii is totally powered down (red light on console). Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Easy to install. Appears to do what it claims. V Tuesday, August 12, 2008 Gary from Rockville, MD
Installation is a snap (literally). No problems whatsoever. It appears to help draw out some additional hot air - obviously what it is designed to be. But it is exceptionally loud, and I may remove it for that reason. Was this review helpful?
