Solid Network Performance for Growing Businesses
NETGEAR’s popular FS100 series desktop switches, known for its reliability and performance, provide your LAN with high-speed, 10/100 Mbps auto-sensing connectivity for as many as 5, 8, or 16 users. Just plug in your Ethernet cables, connect a power cord, and you’re ready to go-there’s no software to configure. They negotiate to the fastest possible connection and with Auto Uplink™ technology, these switches automatically figure out if the link needs a straightthrough or cross-over connection, and makes the right choice. Existing 10BASE-T devices are easily integrated within higher bandwidth environments, with full wire speeds on all ports of either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. Engineered without the need for internal fans, they operate silently. And each of these very compact switches is housed in a sturdy metal case for years of dependable use.

When you want solid network performance for your growing business, plus the added benefit of quiet operation, NETGEAR’s ProSafe FS105, FS108, and FS116 are your best choices for quality, convenience, and smooth — running usability — all at very affordable prices.

At Your Service
Five, eight, or sixteen ports provide LAN access for many users. Every port supports up to 200 Mbps in dedicated bandwidth and traffic is forwarded flawlessly with automatic flow control.

Compact
Solidly built in small sizes that are easy to position when space is at a premium. Ideal for conference rooms, class rooms, study groups or small offices. Place it on any flat surface or use the included wall mount kit to tuck it out of the way.

Simple To Use
Once you connect the hardware, your switch is operating! Auto negotiation takes care of the speed and duplex, while Auto Uplink takes care of the MDI/MDI-X connection. Eliminate the need for toggle switches or special crossover cables.

Quiet
No fan means no noise, which helps maintain a peaceful atmosphere in your busy office.

5 of 5 Great Little switch... Wednesday, May 20, 2009
David from Lynchburg VA

This is a great little switch for the money... But unless you are very sure you will never use it, spend the extra money and get 10/100/1000 switch. 100mbit is all you need for connection to the internet, but if you are moving data between machines on your local network you will be amazed at difference when you do it at 1000mbit. Most current machines support the higher speed and a small local network is probably why you need a switch so step up to 1000mbit, you will be glad you did!

5 of 5 Excellant Network Switch Wednesday, May 20, 2009
Jay from Grayville, IL
I used this switch to expand my network. It is attached to my broadband router and supplies extra network ethernet ports. It installed with no issues, no drivers, no effort at all. It works like a charm. Note that this is a switch and not a router and does NOT have a WAN connection so will not be your primary network unit. And as for use with a VOIP such as the MagicJack, it depends on your broadband router/modem and your ISP and not on this unit. It your nework support the MagicJack then this unit will also.

5 of 5 Great switch Wednesday, May 13, 2009
Pete from Brooklyn
Needed switch to add dvr and blu-ray dvd player to entertainment system. Setup was a breeze, just plugged in my equipment and was up and running. Rebate was a nice bonus. If you need a switch, this is a great choice.

5 of 5 Doesn't get any better! Wednesday, January 28, 2009
Mike from Edgerton, Ohio
I ran a 25 foot cable from my wireless router to the FS105, then plugged it in to my PS3, DishNetwork receiver, and my computer. Worked first time and every time since. No configuration of any kind required. I will be using up the 4th port soon, so I might even order another one of these puppies.

5 of 5 FS105 Ethernet Switch Tuesday, January 20, 2009
Tik from Poughkeepsie, NY
This is a great little switch for an amazing price. It took about 3 minutes to install (right out of the box). Connected the power and network cables.. Immediately worked. I had all four ports on my router used, so this switch gave me a nice 4 more ports expansion. Had it for a month, no complains.

5 of 5 Great Product Tuesday, January 06, 2009
SSL from Saint Louis, MO
Someone told me about this product and how it would allow us to allow a couple more computers on our small network to share an internet connection. What a God-send. It has worked flawlessly from the moment we set it up -- and it was quite easy to set up. This was also by far the best price I could find. Very satisfied so far.

5 of 5 Great Product Sunday, December 28, 2008
Duppy Yawdy from Oak Park, MI
This product is an exceptional buy for the money. Only very minor irritation is the manual nor the product does not clearly indicate which port is to be used for the uplink to another switch. However, I figured out that it is actually a feature of the product. Use any port other than 5 for the uplink. Otherwise, installation was very easy and performance has been great! With the rebate it is very hard to top this value from a trusted name.

5 of 5 Quick and easy Sunday, December 07, 2008
A Customer from Marlborouh, MA
I use quite a few of these switches on our office network, and they perform flawlessly. I generally wait until there is a good rebate, and then order as many as I can on the rebate. Easy set-up, seamless perfomance, and excellent pricing -- what more can you ask for?

5 of 5 It just works... Monday, December 01, 2008
DaveI from Dulles,VA
Replaced a Netgear Hub with this Netgear switch...Hub was still working after eight years continuous use. Unplugged the hub and plugged the switch in it's place. That's it...Everything worked as before but now with less network overhead...And for $15 after the rebate definitely was worth the change...

5 of 5 Cheap, simple, Reliable Wednesday, November 12, 2008
A Customer from Richmond, VA
Just like all my other NetGear switches, this one works without any hassle. Like the fact that it doesn't emit much heat unlike some that I have used that do a better job warming my office in winter than my heat pump.

5 of 5 Easy and Economical Thursday, October 09, 2008
A Customer from Camden, AR
I actually purchased this switch for my college-aged son, who recently moved into a 2-man dorm room which was designed for one (ie only one network jack). If you know anything about teenagers, they like everything quick and easy, no messing with instructions and the like. If you know anything about moms of college teenagers, they want something that will not stress the already tuition-stressed budget. The boys opened the box, they plugged it in, the switch worked, and I got the rebate! Everybody's happy.

5 of 5 Works as expected Saturday, May 17, 2008
Bill from Missouri
Works fine, nice compact style. Just connect a drop from the switch to your LAN, plug in the power adapter, then connect up to 4 computers or other network devices. It's not rocket science. Device includes mounting screws and plastic drywall anchors for vertical mount, but don't expect the drywall anchors to actaully hold with the push and pull of plugging in and removing cables, find a stud (will probably need longer screws too).

5 of 5 Small Form Factor / Big Performance!!! Saturday, March 22, 2008
D.B.Chamberlain from Los Angeles, California
This is the second unit I have bought in less than a month. Works right out of the box. Quick and easy setup. I like the wall-mountable metal case, which also disperses any heat generated by the device. The unit has four rubber feet on the bottom and if vertically installed, they provide pressure against the screwheads, so it stays put! Get it while the $15 rebate is still good. This is professional gear for the SOHO user!

5 of 5 Cheap small switch, works great! Sunday, March 16, 2008
A Customer from Milwaukee, WI
I needed a few more ports in my office since I only had one data connection in there. This small form factor switch works great. As long as you don't have a need for a managed switch, this one works great and is cheap!

5 of 5 Great value Monday, February 11, 2008
A Customer from Wayland Michigan
Great price (especially with free shipping), if you don't mind going through the steps and the time for the rebate. Even with the budget shipping I received it with in a couple days. The power pack comes off of the receptical at a 90 deg. angle to the left or right. I don't care much for that.

5 of 5 Big Performance in a small package at a small pric Wednesday, January 30, 2008
G. Coker from Birmingham, AL
Great switch for the money. Plug and go! Mounting slots on bottom of unit allow you to mount on the side of your desk or on a wall, without having to rig something that looks embarrassing. Very compact, but tough as nails.

4 of 5 Solid product Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Matt from Sammamish, WA
Solid product which performs well. No issues since it was installed in August. Super value, though the power cable is overly fragile. Fried (shorted out) one of these units while attempting to clean up some cabling in my patch panel. Apparently, it got pinched when I gently screwed the lid on my patch panel shut. I wasn't overly rough with the cables, either. But at this price point, I was willing to shrug it off.

5 of 5 No hassles, works great. Tuesday, February 25, 2003
michaelwright from Union City, California
Good price, works as promised, nice metal case much better than the plastic cases on all my other hubs and stacks better with the nice flat top & bottom, uplink switch so that I can connect either from computer or another switch/hub without a cross-connect cable. Reviewers of the 8 port version warn of poor power supply connector, but I've had no trouble so far with it sitting on top of my desk with cord hanging off back, I've had longer life and easier setup on Netgear stuff than my Hawking and Taiwanese-based company stuff. I use it to connect my DSL modem to Netgear RP-614 internet sharing device with 4 port hub through 1 cable up to my 2nd floor where a hub in each bedroom and 2 computers tie to this switch, thereby using the Uplink feature (and needing it on more than one of the rj45s). Manufactured in China, I think. Going from 10 to 100mbps hub to 100Mbps switch does not cost much more power either. As with all these boxes, I'd prefer that the power supply was inside box, but external supply units are so much cheaper.
