1 of 5 No support at MIT Saturday, February 16, 2008
kfig1 from Duncansville Pa.

Installed the MDP130 with DVI daughter card and it worked great for about 2 weeks. Then I started having a problem with myhd starting. I tried the card in a different computer with no luck. 14 days had past so no help from the seller. No response back from emails sent to MIT in Korea. $200 for about 8 hours of pleasure and 15 hours of frustration resulting in a dead board. I would not recommend buying the MYHD cards because there is no support if you have a hardware problem.

5 of 5 MYHD card Monday, January 07, 2008
A Customer from ca
Although it is an aging product, being a hardware decoder it is still the best solution around for pc decoding. It allows me to spare my pc resources for other important resources such as simultaneous recording of HDTV streams (using Dvico fusion cards) while MYHD playsback previously recorded dvico files like a charm.

1 of 5 STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT! Friday, December 14, 2007
johnrahn from Sycamore, IL.
After doing what I thought was good internet research, I settled on the MyHD card. What a mistake! The card will not run on Vista (unless you check Win 98 compatibility mode), the IR device would not install and the company told me via email that they had no intent to support Windows Vista. It is NOT recognized by Windows Media Center either. I unfortunately threw away the packing slip and am now stuck with it. Guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was! Learn from my mistake and stay away from this card.

4 of 5 Good Tuner for HD channels viewed via an Antenna Thursday, November 29, 2007
A Customer from Uniontown, OH
Install was easy. However, the USB remote hardware causes problems with my PC, therefore I don't use it - sometimes the computer wouldn't even boot into windows. I even upgraded the motherboard bios and that didn't solve the problem. The card also doesn't decode HD channels from Time Warner cable in NE Ohio, even the supposedly "unscrambled" local channels if your not subscribed to the HD package...therefore you have to use your house antenna to get them over the air. Quality of the analog channels is worse than my old ATI TV Wonder card. Good card for the price if you plan on using it just for viewing local HD channels from an antenna.

4 of 5 Excellent hardware but software needs improvement Tuesday, November 27, 2007
A Customer from san jose, ca
If you are looking for an HD DVR without having to pay monthly subscription fee, this is the best solution to have despite some software issues. Pros: 1. hardware based decoding/playback. 2. No loss of picture quality. 3. Don't need a graphics card or high-end CPU. 4. Extra card available for DVI output and optical audio output. 5. Passthru feature to use same monitor/tv for PC as well as TV. 6. Free integration with Titantv guide for setting up recording etc. 7. Decent upconverting of DVDs Cons: 1. No support other than avsforum 2. Software is very flaky and crashes once in a while 3. Tuner cannot amplify weak signals. 4. Cannot watch recorded program while the card is recording. 5. SPDIF output on my card had audio dropouts which could not be fixed but optical output on DVI daughter card worked. 6. Daughter card takes another PCI slot. 7. Software always resumes the recorded program from the begining. 8. Very flaky tuning. Had to spend several hours to get all channels and had to manually edit the channel list file to add a few channels which the tunning software would skip randomly. Overall I am happy with this card as I don't watch too much TV. Saves money on monthly subscription for an HD DVR. I just like to record a few HD programs and watch them later for which this card is sufficient. After using it for a few weeks I invested in the DVI card to get full 1080 resolution.

5 of 5 myHD is an excelent product Tuesday, September 11, 2007
joseccz from Dallas, TX
I just installed myHD in my PC (Athlon XP 2700+ with an old ATI All in wonder 7200 Radeon with 32MB video ram) and the image is very good. The installation was very easy, no conflicts arised, and right now I am enjoying over the air HDTV. My NEC LCD 22 inch is working as super HDTV 1600x1050. I do recommend this card inclusive for people who needs Closed Caption. This hardware based product supports it very well. My old graphics card didn't have any performance decreasing problem and so the whole computer.

5 of 5 Why DVI output not standard for HD? Wednesday, April 04, 2007
Rad-X from Royal Oak, MI
This TV tuner card installed and worked flawlessly out of the box. I was generally impressed with the software that comes with this kit, as it has nearly every option with regards to fine tuning your preferences (ie. it will detect all available channels, and you can then delete ones you don't want...convenient!) and video modes. But having a DVI output should be standard for any HD card. Paying an extra nearly $60 for this option is a money grab, imo. One thing that is annoying: "HD mode" only seems to work in full-screen only. Why can't I watch HD mode using, say 1/4 of my 4:3 monitor, while I surf the web? It's either one or the other. And if I do use just 1/4 screen, then it's in analog, AND the aspect ratio is not correct! Let me back up: when you switch from analog to HD modes, your aspect ratio on the screen stretches vertically...this means that you have to change your aspect ratio for EITHER analog mode or HD mode (it does not change automatically when going automatically into full-screen for HD mode) Argh! The best workaround I can see for this issue is to simply have a second monitor that is wide-screen, and of course the DVI add-on card. The second monitor can be dedicated to HD viewing at full-screen, and there would be no need to constantly change your aspect ratio. Perfect solution, but I ain't made of money, so this will have to wait...

4 of 5 Real HD Home Theater PC Experience Monday, March 26, 2007
A Customer from Rancho Cucamonga, CA
The MyHD Tuner card is awesome since it processes everything on board rather than eating up all of your CPU like so many other cards do. The resolution and quality are excellent even the recorded files have the same great 1080i quality. The included software lacks useability. I had to install it a couple of times because something got corrupted after the 1st install. After that it works fine. You just need to be a bit resourceful to tweak it just the way you want it. It also let's you take a snapshot capture while in a Paused state. That's really cool because you can generate 1080i pictures that are incredibly clear. It uses Titan TV for scheduling recording which works great. It will even wake up you PC from Hibernation and put it back in Hibernation or even shut it down if you prefer after the recording is done. It's the best HD Tuner card I've tried.

4 of 5 Great Card Except for Analog Recording Tuesday, February 27, 2007
A Customer from Chattanooga, TN
The MDP-130 is truly a great card for watching and recording HDTV signals from a desktop computer. If your HDTV has a VGA input (like the one I have), you can directly connect one of the MDP-130 outputs to that VGA input and then operate it from your couch using the remote just like a table-top unit. If your HDTV only has a DVI input, buy the daughter card for the MDP-130 which will give you the DVI output you need. The good thing about this card is that it has a hardware processor and therefore doesn't use very much of the CPU power. You won't need to have everything perfect in the computer as is the case with some software processor units. The only time that the CPU will be significantly used is during the recording process. With two antenna connections, I use both over-the-air and cable connections. Just make sure that the box for "enable QAM scanning" is checked or otherwise you may not pick up any digital channels. The only disadvantage of the MYHD unit is that recording analog channels (non-digital) is crummy with this unit.

5 of 5 Excellent Product Wednesday, February 14, 2007
Jordan from Lewisville, Tx
Works as described. HDTV picture looks great, has no problem tuning all channels, plus a lot of digital channels. Guide function doesn't seem to work correctly, possibly user error. not much support on the software. Software could have been made more user friendly. DVR function works great. A lot of room for user customization. Hardware tuning uses very little CPU cycles, enables older computers to even function as a DVR. Very happy with purchase.

5 of 5 Excellent Product Thursday, January 25, 2007
Todd from Dixon, CA
Once you figure out how to scan for your channels this card is awesome. I am ordering the DVI daughter card because it is cheaper than the VGA to component solution for hooking up to an HDTV.

5 of 5 Good Deal Sunday, January 14, 2007
A Customer from Richmond, Va
I bought this card to watch HD TV on my pc from over the air broadcasts and cable. Although my pc lacks horse power with just Win98 a 566 celeron chip and 10gb storage, it works great for watching TV on my 21 inch monitor. Kit includes an ir receiver and remote, so it works just like a tv. I am unable to use the recording features or tivo feature since I lack the horse power and its very jerky, but I did not buy it for that. And unlike the other products on the market that require a lot of power, they do not offer a decoder for HD on cable broadcasts. Nothing like turning on your pc, grabbing a snack, returning to see your pc screen up, pressing the power button on your remote and have your tv ready to go. When done, just press the power button and the whole things turns off, shuts down completely.

5 of 5 works great with older computer Thursday, November 09, 2006
A Customer from Arlington Heights, IL
I have an old Dell PIII 866Mhz with 384mb ram which is barely over the minimum requirements for this but it works great. I'm using it for the digital TV not the analog so I can't comment on that side. I rated the ease of use only 4/5 because the documentation is lacking some detail so you need to experiment a little to use the software features. Though the installation process seemed spelled out pretty good. Overall I am really happy with this product mainly due to the fact it works so well with my older machine which saved me a lot of $ in building an HTPC And on a different note, I took the free shipping and it still arrived the next day. I guess it pays to live near a big city.

4 of 5 Nice HD picture Thursday, October 05, 2006
A Customer from Phoenix, AZ
Worked right out of the box. Installation instructions are detailed. The HD picture on my 21" CRT looks great. Fast action is smooth. Does not stress out the CPU (2.8Ghz, P4). Much better than the ATI product.

2 of 5 Good hardware, software a little lacking, no suppo Thursday, March 02, 2006
Paul from Billerica, MA
I love the hardware, the tuner is far better than the ATI HDTV Wonder. I was very disappointed in the software especially the video capture in that it onlys saves in AVI for analog and .tp transport format for Digital. I also ended up where I could not get the application to work, kept getting a windows runtime error and the MyHD would just hang. Support for the card is non-existent. The company website has almost nothing and I could not find any resellers or anyone who had anything either. Overall a good product, however due to the lack of ability to video capture to MPEG format, the software bug and ultimately the total lack of support available, I would suggest people look elsewhere for now.

5 of 5 Stable, Reliable - great picture. Monday, November 21, 2005
Brien from La Mirada, CA
i've got the MDP-130 with the DVI daughter card connected to my HDTV. It's awesome not having to futz with powerstrip for timings with the DVI input, as it gives standard HDTV timings. The product is very reliable, much much moreso than the ATI HDTV blunder. I used the ATI product for about 40 minutes before returning it. I'm very satisfied with the MyHD MDP-130 and highly recommend it.

5 of 5 WOW!! Friday, September 23, 2005
A Customer from New York, NY
I'm satisfied with this product. The product is very stable, not like other HDTV cards that are available in the market. I strongly recommend this product to people who want to use their low spec PC to watch HDTV. With this hardware decording HDTV card, no need to upgrade your current cpu or graphic card.^^
