This portable DVD player is perfect for single person use when traveling and as a portable component at home. The picture is somewhat small, but it has excellent color and detail. Sound is excellent, especially through headphones. The unit is solid with the screen and player door feeling like they are firmly attached. The package comes with battery, battery charger and both AC and DC power adapters. Battery life is excellent, lasting at least 2 movies. This is where the smaller screen pays dividends. The 10" and 11" screens are nice, but they only last 1+ movie on a battery. And for the price you might as well get a laptop. This unit is also only slightly thicker than a normal portable CD player. The battery attaches to the back and plugs into the side of the unit. This allows you to easily isolate the battery without detaching the battery, or to switch to the AC/DC adapters. The one main drawback is the ability of the DVD player to adjust the video signal to the screen. When viewing movies converted to DVD with older technology that were made not made in anomorphic or modern aspect ratios the player could not accurately display the movie without being in 4:3 mode. This made the picture even smaller. However, any normal DVD was read with no issues, not even the occaisonal pause that some DVDs experience. Remote and controls are easy to use.
