3 of 5 Could be better Saturday, May 31, 2008
A Customer from York, PA

My first Streets & Trips version was 1998 with Expidia incorporated into it, which was great. I've been disappointed with every version I have bought since. I keep hoping the next one will get better. There are new streets, over a year old, that appear on Map Quest, but not on Streets & Trips. The re-routing function wants to turn you around and take you back when there are shorter routes available.

4 of 5 Not bad for the bucks Saturday, May 24, 2008
A Customer from Slidell, La.
If you already have a laptop and don't need a full time GPS it is go buy. I used mine on a 1000 mile round trip and did a good job. You can do a lot more with this software, plus you have a bigger screen.

1 of 5 Features Missing: Small Lakes Saturday, May 17, 2008
AL S from Madison, WI
I spend a lot of time in northern WI and MN and use a 2002 version of Street and Trips maps (no GPS). The 2008 version replaced my 2002 version. The GPS works great but I found there were lots of smaller WI and MN lakes missing from the new maps. My 2002 program represented small lakes with an unnamed blue area. These are missing now in less populated areas of northern WI & MN but present in southern WI and MN. The features were left out. Roads; even smaller township roads; are updated and accurate. However, you can't tell if the roads lead to a field area or lake area. It's unusable to me because of this. I had to go back to my 2002 version and return the new program to Microsoft for refund. I am checking out DeLorme to see if theirs is better.

5 of 5 forget streets & trips 2008 Saturday, April 19, 2008
David Moake from Marion, Il
I have been a Streets and trips customer since 1997 the best I can remember. The last three years w/gps. What ever you do don't buy the 2008 edition, it is crap!! Just burn a hundred dollar bill and you will be happier!!!! The program is constantly lost and calculating a new route(I'm speaking of Interstates not side roads). It cannot find the roads and stay with them. I strongly suggest you buy the 2007 edition or the 2006 edition, you will be much happier!! Microsoft has totally screwed up what was a very good program!

4 of 5 Streets & Trips 2008 W/GPS Locator works Friday, April 11, 2008
Tom J from Atlanta, GA
I had used Streets & trips since 2002 and like the ease of use very much, but my maps were getting noticeably out of date, so I decided it was time to update. When I received the 2008 version with GPS, I loaded it on my laptop, put in a 25 mile loop with 5 stop markers. There is one small drawback when compared to other GPS systems I've been in a vehicle with. The others tell you the name of the street you are turning onto, but S&T tells you that you will be turning in 1 tenth mile, either right or left. There was one turn on my test trip that I put in just to test what would happen. There were 2 left turns off the same exit on the same side of the route that were within 50 feet of each other. I took the 1st left after it said turn in a tenth of a mile and it was the wrong turn. So I guess my advice is what I'll be doing just as I did before without GPS, and that's print a map to supplement the GPS. BTW, the voice is very clear & sounds good looking! :-)
